Widgets not showing as options to select on CarPlay

Installed IOS26 and went to settings CarPlay then selected the previously connected car and then widgets which looks as though they are trying to load but 20 minutes later nothing loads to select.

After the 26.1 update "Widgets" is no longer an option in the CarPlay app Carplay app has "Apps" but the "Widgets" option is no longer there. How do I get widgets back?

CarPlay not connecting or showing in car Carplay will not connect or show on my car. When I go to device manager it shows my iPhone and will connect for media and phone but no CarPlay icon.

After actually physically connecting to the car, post IOS upgrade, the widgets showed.
