How do I recover missing voicemails on my iPhone after iOS 26 update

I am absolutely heartbroken!!!! It was my birthday yesterday and I “had” a saved voicemail from my late father wishing me a happy birthday that I listen to every year since his passing in 2022. When I went to listen to it, it was no longer there - not in the deleted voicemails either!!! I cannot believe that I may have permanently lost the only voice recording I have of my Dad.

I had a few voicemails saved to my iPhone 16 Pro & after the latest update 26.4.2 those precious voicemails are no longer there. My father-in-laws voice from before he passed in 2012 & my mother’s voice before she passed in 2016. I just saw those vm’s last week (5/2/26). They are not in the deleted file cause those go back to only 2018. I’m distraught over losing them. I was so cautious to keep my voicemails to a minimum in an effort to save them. Any way to find those lost voicemails?

I too am missing voicemails after 26 update. Saved love ones voices were very important to me. Not in my deleted ones. Wonder why it took away my saved ones and left a slew of blocked ones??😢

Same. Duplicates and my vm’s come and go!! So annoying!

I am devasted. I too lost my saved VMs from my late hubby. Please Apple help us restore the precious voice memories. 😢😭

I accidentally deleted an unread voicemail. I discovered that I don't have a deleted voicemail folder. The only options are call, contacts, keypad and search.

Miraculously my voicemails have reappeared. I did not do anything to try and recover them. I just did a lot of praying.

I followed Vdogg78 instructions. It worked immediately and I’m on Consumer Cellular. Thank you vdogg78!

I’m just devastated… my mom’s voicemails are all gone, she passed in 2021. Apple blames my carrier…
