Unintended camera activation on iPhone

I notice the camera indicator comes on at random times when I am not using my camera, mostly on lock screen. I am

not accidentally pressing the camera button, and the camera application is not open. I feel like my privacy is being invaded.

Turn off the iPhone tap-to-wake setting (Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Tap to Wake), or orient the iPhone display away from your body when stored in your shirt pocket, or both, and test again.

Seeing this Firsthand:

If taking a screenshot does not show this, then provide a photo. Take a photo using another device (smartphone, tablet, or computer), and show us was you are referring to. IMPORTANT: Be certain to block out any personal info(i.e, names and time), whatsoever, by blocking it with red-colored rectangles and such, through use of the Photos app.
