heic frustration

Still very frustrated with HEIC photos, looked at APPs and couldn't get them to work. Is there someone out there that can help me /guide me to a good method to convert my many HEIC photos to a format used by the rest of the world to a photo standard like jpeg, jpg, png etc.

iPhone 11, iOS 18

  1. Your iPhone has a setting to record photos in either HEIC or JPEG. Change this setting if you want it different than the default modern format. Settings﹥Camera﹥Formats﹥High Efficiency (HEIC), or Most Compatible (JPEG). The same setting is also used for video recording: HEVC H.265 vs. AVC H.264.
  2. Your iPhone has a setting to automatically convert HEIC to JPEG (or HEVC to AVC) “when needed”, when transferring a copy of the photos in the recommended way. Settings﹥Apps﹥Photos﹥Transfer to Mac or PC﹥Automatic (convert when needed), or Keep Originals (do not convert on transfer).
