I am unable to sign in to my apple account in the Apple music app to add my Windows PC to use my Apple Music subscription.

I am unable to sign in to my apple account in the apple music app on my Windows PC to use my Apple Music subscription. It shows:

"Verification Failed

This action could not be completed. Try again."

I have the family subscription and my iPhone and MB are working fine. I'm trying to add my Windows PC to my Apple Music subscription. I downloaded the Apple Music App 3 times to try and I keep getting the same error message as above. My Apple Account login info is correct.

Do I have to use a different Apple ID for my PC?

Please advise.

Thx!

Rick W.

No. The PC will need the same Apple ID as iPhone / MB if you want access to the Music subscription.

If you need to: Check if your PC is listed in your Apple Account:

See how to: Check your Apple Account device list to find where you’re signed in - Apple Support

If PC is not yet listed:

You may want to try signing in to your Apple Account online from your PC: https://account.apple.com/

See if you get a verification code on your iPhone or MB to enter from the PC

If needed: see how to: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

Once your PC is listed in your Apple Account (eg: via above)

Sign in to your Apple Account in Apple Music on Windows - Apple Support

Eg: says:

  1. "Go to the Apple Music app on your Windows device.
  2. Select Sign In at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Sign In."

You may also need to authorise the PC to play Music purchases etc.

See How to authorize or deauthorize your Windows PC:

Authorize a PC to play iTunes purchases - Apple Supporthorize or Deauthorize."

Wondering if your current iPhone / MB settings allow for sharing the Music subscription to the PC

You may want to sync music across devices / or maybe you use iCloud for that ,,,

or

If you still need help: One way may be: Add a family member to your shared subscriptions - Apple Support

Wondering whether you have the correct Music app for Windows installed:

Install the Apple Music app on Windows - Apple Support

Eg says:

  1. "Go to the Microsoft Store on your Windows device.
  2. Search for “Apple Music”.
  3. Select the Apple Music app , then select Get."
