Messenger threads not scrolling up enough to read last line

On iPad Pro 13” M4 iOS26.2 when using Messenger, the text entry bubble is obscuring the last line of the last message in the thread, either that or the scrolling is not allowing the message thread to fully scroll up so as to reveal that bottom line of the last message. When scrolling up, the thread does move up to reveal it but simply falls back down when you let go.

Reached out to Apple and to Meta - both saying contact the other!!

Can anyone help?

Tried every combination of the normal raft of highly generalised ‘advice’, updates (iOS and Messenger are both fully up-to-date), deleting-reinstalling, offloading-reinstalling, force quitting-restarting, settings, settings, settings, and more settings - nothing works so far. Arrrrggg

Unsure what “click emoji to see last line” means - could you be more detailed please as I’ve tried clicking on the emoji key on keyboard and this does nothing apart from opening the emoji selector. Last line of previous message still obscured.

An exact step by step would be greatly appreciated thank you……

Thanks BobfmUK - but in doing so this means you are actually sending a Thumbs Up - which is unwanted and conceivably inappropriate. Sending any subsequent message with anything in it dose the same as it moves the thread up, but still leaves the bottom of the thread obscured, only now its your own message that is affected.

You can push the thread up to read the obscured line anyway, but it just falls back down when you let go - that is the annoying thing here, its not about being unable to read the bottom line. Thanks anyway BobfmUK👍

Ahhhhh, I couldn’t find nor remember, who is the one that talked about shaking the iPad. Meter did explain what I had to do to get the update for messenger and as I said before, I had it set for all my apps to automatically update. However, going to the App Store right now have noticed that you have to manually update things. Bummer.

Bottom line, I’m happy I was able to find a way to update to the latest version of Messenger. Thank you!

Do you mean for a fix, or just forget Messenger??

If the latter, then I’ve got to convince the rest of my world to jump on the same alternative app…..not happening is it…
