Troubleshooting Cellular Errors:

A. "No Service":

Is "No Service" shown on the top-left corner of your screen? If so, go here to fix that: If you See No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

B. No SIM":

Is "No SIM" shown on the top-left corner of your screen? If so, go here to fix that: If you See 'invalid SIM' or 'no SIM' on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

C. Install a Cellular Update:

It might be prompting you for a cellular update to install. So, go here for that. Update your Carrier Settings Manually on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Along with what I mentioned in my First Reply…

1. Update your iPhone:

Back Up First:

IMPORTANT: If you have an option to update, however, then be certain you backup your iPhone first. That way, you will have something to restore your iPhone from should anything go wrong with the update

then...

2. Proceed with the Update:

Aside from updating through the iOS itself, you can update using a computer (witch provides the option for Ethernet) or using Cellular.

Computer:  Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip

Cellular: Use an iPhone 12 or later, that is using 5G, in order to update over Cellular - User Tip
