MacBook Pro reset fails: Find My asks for old Apple ID

I am trying to reset my MacBook Pro running macOS Tahoe. All the steps are fine until I get to Find My... I am asked to provide a password for the old AppleID email address that I used to use. I have not used that email address for more than two years. I am unable to go beyond this step.

I would Call Customer Support (800) MY–APPLE (800–692–7753)
