How to make the Read Aloud facility on iPad say the word ‘not’ when reading aloud

When using the Read Aloud facility on my iPad, it never says the word ‘not’, which can be very confusing when listening; I always have to check the text to ensure that the word ‘not’ is in fact in the text. How can I make the Read Aloud facility say the word ‘not’ when reading aloud?
