It’s not clear from your post how you’re attempting to play back the video. Are you using Safari, the built‑in Photos app, the Apple TV app, or a third‑party player? Each of these apps handles video playback differently, and the troubleshooting steps can vary depending on the platform. For example, Safari playback issues might relate to browser settings or extensions, while the Photos app could be affected by file corruption or syncing problems. The Apple TV app has its own streaming requirements, and third‑party apps may introduce compatibility concerns. Clarifying which app you’re using will make it much easier to pinpoint the source of the problem and suggest the right solution.

Video playback issues are not always the fault of the iOS update!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

When you attribute video playback issues on your device to an iOS update, you risk overlooking other potential causes that may be specific to your hardware or settings. Updates often become the “easy scapegoat,” but not all issues originate from the operating system itself. For example, battery drain might stem from an aging battery, connectivity problems could be tied to your router or network environment, and app crashes may result from outdated third-party software. By assuming the update is the sole culprit, you narrow your troubleshooting lens and miss opportunities to identify device-specific problems that require different solutions. A balanced approach—considering both the update’s impact and the unique state of your device—helps you diagnose issues more accurately and avoid unnecessary frustration.
