iPhone and apple watch compatibility

Hi, I have iPhone 10R and I bought a second hand apple watch SE2 as it said it's compatible with iOS 18. But the watch says it needs iOS 26 or later. Is there any way to downgrade the iOS of the apple watch to make it compatible with my iPhone?

Apple Watch Series 8, watchOS 26

No, there is no way to downgrade the OS on Apple Watch. The watch you bought is on a higher WatchOS version than a very old iPhone Xr can support. If you can return the watch for refund, you should do that. Or, it's time to consider buying a new or much newer model iPhone.
