Netflix Problems

Anybody else having this problem? I had no trouble signing into my Netflix account (Instant Queue, recently played, etc...) but when I try to play something on the ATV it takes a long time to load then stops after two or three seconds. I tried this over wi-fi and with ethernet. I do not have particularly fast DSL but I watch Netflix on my Mac all the time with no problems. Also, I had no trouble streaming a movie trailer on the ATV. Just a Netflix bug? Any ideas?

When I first got my ATV2, streaming of any flavor was all but unusable. Weeks later, I discovered the problem was with my Internet provider - all their bandwidth was being consumed. They doubled their capacity and I started getting my advertised speeds consistently at which time I began enjoying my ATV2. Following the 4.3 update, it seems like the pausing and re-buffering is worse than ever, even though my Internet speeds are now perfect. My ATV2 is hardwired to my AirPort Extreme. I do not experience anywhere near the pauses when I watch Netflix on my Sony Blu-Ray player, but I prefer the ATV2's Netflix interface. I'm glad this "hobby" device only costs $99, but even that is too much for something that isn't usable in the real world.

Actually I use Netflix more than iTunes rentals, it's flawless and a great value. There are many factors that have been discussed that can cause issues.

This has been my experience as well. Not even a single pause for rebuffering. I have Netflix on PS3 and TiVo as well, but AppleTV is my client of choice. My guess is that Netflix probably has different servers handling different devices, and that in some regions they've been unable to keep up with the rapid increase of Apple TV as a client. My only real performance complaint is that for some shows some or all of the "thumbnails" for FF and rewind are missing.

Yep. I'm done. Got this unit just before Xmas and I only once attempted to rent a movie on it. Epic load time, ruined my evening. I learned my lesson the first time. Lost revenue, apple.

But I kept it around for Netflix. Which is now gone. My two laptops and 2 iPhones work fine, so this is clearly an ATV issue. I am ******. I have wasted so much time on this forum trying to figure it out. It's going back tomorrow. And I will be that customer.

Well, it gets better and better for me.

Netflix has worked flawlessly since I got the ATV2 UNTIL the 4.2 update. After that I started to get the stuttering problem as well.

I found that once, after power cycling it worked for a whole TV show but for the most part it was still having issues.

I went to watch something tonight and it started stuttering. I power cycled and the thing came back up but when I go to Internet, Netflix, MLB and NBA are all non-reponsive. In addition, after this power cycle it installed version 4.2.1.

What's even worse is that Netflix locks the ATV2 and then reboots it.

Like others, Netflix works fine on all other devices in my house (Wii, Xbox360, iPad, iMac, MacBook Pro, Win7 pcs...).

Apple screwed something up here.
