Iphone 4 light stays on

This very comon i had replaced two iphone 4 for this issue now the third one is allso having this and whenever the phone is replaced only the original warranty of first iphone remains so now im pushed out of warranty.

This way they push you out of warranty even though iphone replaced is just couple months old!

I owened all iphones since one and iphone 4 hase been the only one for me prone to so many faults.

Hope Apple will review this and the phone replaced should have a 12 months warranty othervise i think is unfair and this is escaping your backs with faulty products.

i had the same problem and believe it or not, i smacked it on my lap right on the camera itself and it works fine now and it turned off. sometimes violence is the only solution 😝

I have the same problem. My iPhone 4s fell in the tub and was 2 days over the 30 day warranty. Now everything works except for the camera light which is always on!!!

I bought my iPhone 4s in November and the light is constantly on. I cannot make it shut off. I have yet to call support or take the phone back to where I bought it (Sam's Club). But since so many of us are having the same problem, I am going to get started before the warranty wears out!

i tried several setting and i've found maybe works for u all

go to setting and set the autolock ...try for 1 minutes ...hope will solve all ur problem

mine is iphone 4 with latest firmware..

If you would prefer to handle your iPhone with care, a simple method to solve the problem is to drain your battery to 0%. The light will turn and stay off. Cheers

Mine just went on and I got real scared but somebody said they dropped theirs and it went off...I kind of smacked mine in the back. I only did it cuz I got an Otterbox and it went off. I thought it was dead but, took a photo and video and it does go back on (when needed!) It's the 4 and hopefully this is a one time problem.

I dropped my phone in water (twice), and it worked fine after keeping it in a bag of rice for a couple days. The only issue was that the light stayed on permanently, even when the phone was shut off. The light shut off when the battery went dead, but then came right back on when the phone was charged again. I fixed it by turning on the camera in video mode, turning on the flash explicitly (by selecting "on" instead of "auto") which made the light brighter, then turning the flash off (by selecting "off" instead of "on" or "auto"). The light blinked a couple times and then turned off.

I have a feeling different situations have different solutions, but I hope this helps some people!

Same Issue....again, had this trouble before, phone stoped doing it by itself, so I did never take it to the apple store, now it started doing it again...and, just here at the apple store the "magic"phone stops having this kind of trouble....not fair, not able to show the problem to the tech.

Same issue here. Put in a request to the Express Lane, hopefully someone at Apple has seen this thread and they are recognizing it as a problem, which is why I'm posting, just to be counted so we can get this resolved. Best of luck to everyone, and thanks for all of the advice!

I had the same problem with my iphone.

So I booked an appointment at the genius bar and they sorted it out for me.

They fixed me up with a brand new phone.

The light stays on when you have had water or dampness get into the earphone socket.

If there is too much dampness they will not swap the phone.

So I would recommend going to the genuis bar.

I just had the same thing after a long phone call (1hr) my phone was on charge at the same time and said it was overheated and thats when the light turned on. Smacked it a few times but over the top near the screen lock key so that I didn't destroy my camera... And voila! Just goes to show when all else fails violence is the key

I have the exact same issue, but i have the iphone 4s i was at the beach and i didnt get it soaked but slightly wet. lets just say i was to close to the shore when high tide came and once a big wave came i grabbed my bad as it slighty touched the water. It barely got wet. all the ater indicator stickers were all still white. I thougth restoring would fix it but no good. even when i was rrstoring it the light stays on. Worst of all even when i power off the device it stays on. I am going to apple tomorrow and i hope they allow me to get a new device. I only had this phone for 2 months.

Well, my light is now off!! An Apple fix it store replaced the camera for only $35!!!!!!

This just happened to me, my phone somehow got moisture inside it and water droplets were visible In the camera lanse. The light stayed on even when the phone was off, whitch would be temporary because my phone would turn itself back on. All of the buttons started malfunctioning as well, making it hard to handle. All i did was drained the battery completely over night, and then left it in a bag full of rice for a few hours and i noticed the water inside the lense was gone. I charged it and now its working perfectly.
