iPod Touch won't turn on !!

I have an 8 GB iPod Touch and it does not turn on, it was working and it just went off and won't turn on. I tried to connect it to iTunes but it is still the same.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how do you fix it ?

You are absouletly correct about holding the home and power button. My ipod touch works great now. Thanks everyone for your help. 🙂 my mom was witness on the phone that this works while i was googling the problem to find a solution. Thanks again guys

How does this work if you can't charge the **** thing? It's doing my head in. My iPod showed it needed charging so I plugged it in to charger and it wouldn't charge. So subsequently it has totally run out of juice and won't charge and won't turn on. Doing a reset doesn't work as there's no battery charge. Plugging it into iTunes doesn't work as its turned off so doesn't display on iTunes.

Alright. Have any of you tried connecting it to power? What your iPod is probably experincing right now is something I like to call "dead". It takes a bit, so you have to be patient. After waiting a few min. try pushing the power button for a long time until you see the apple logo. Then release the power button. Wait a few min. again and it will probably turn on.
