iPod Touch won't turn on !!

I got into the same situation where I started a game and my itouch suddnely went black! I could only see the apple logo! i tried holding the "Home Button" and "Power Button" but nothing happend. I tried to plug in my laptop but it didnt recognised! I waited for the battery to finish and tried again but nothing seems to be working.
Few moments back the itunes recognized it and asked me to restore, i clicked on restore. Will i loose all my data after restoring the itouch? Including my apps? things like notes!!
i have alot of information on it and dunn wanna loose. what can i do... help please!

i was doing uptade for my ipod touch 4g 32 g and my computer crashed and my ipod froze and would not turn on like 5 hours later my ipod came up with the batery signal saying that it needs to be charged so i think that is you just let it sit for a while then it should come back but one time my ipod just turned off and it was on the charger with full charge and it did not turn on for like 3 days so just be patient it will come back on!

That is the same thing that happened to me, but after trying all the tricks listed here, it still ain't workin'

It happened to me too around 2 weeks after purchase. Sure, pressing home and power button simultaneously works but my question is "Why does it happen?" What bugs me is everytime it randomly shuts down, the date and time resets to January 1, 1970.

Our authorized mac specialist here in the Philippines won't consider item replacement. They insist that there is no problem with my 4th gen Ipod 8gb.

Mine did the same thing today (4th gen 64G). I read further down in the post & found a fix that worked. Hold both the power & home button at the same time. I had to hold mine for around 30 seconds before it turned on. Seems as though everything is ok. Hope this works for you 🙂

Same thing happened to me last night, I left my iPod on my bed, went out of the room for two minutes, came back and it was dead. It had been working fine before that.. I left it plugged in all night but nothing happend! I then held down the home button and the power button together and it worked perfect 😀 thank you!

I have a problem with my ipod two been having it since two months after I got my ipod a year and a half ago.

It turned off didn't work for 6 months no matter what I did. Holding power button connecting to itunes. I tried everything just recently it happened again and hasn't turned on for a month help me PLEASE 😟

maybe your ipods are in DFU mode???

I've got a 4th Gen 64 Gig that is less than a month old and will not turn on. I've tried all the suggestions on here and even googled the problem. Is there any other suggestions. I'm pretty ******, I had to talk myself into spending a lot of money for this device when my old 80 gig ipod was just fine. Any help?

Try holding the power and home button together for 10 seconds... It has always worked for me. 🙂

try holding down the button on the top of the ipod and the main button. hold both of them down for a few seconds and it should turn on
