iPod Touch won't turn on !!

Had the same problem as everyone else here. After an update ipod touch 4g 4 days old refused to start and couldn't get it to restore on itunes even though it recognised it. In the end I took the wireless router out of the internet connection. Still didn't work. Then tried using the USB port at the back of the tower and hey presto it works. Hope this helps someone out there.

OK EVERYONE READ!!!!

If your iPod wont turn on try these steps and solutions

1. DFU Mode

Hold the power button for 3 seconds

Keep holding power button and also hold home button and count to 10 or keep holding till screen goes black

Now let go of power and hold home till you see this now just restore in itunes

2. PWNED DFU Mode.

Hold both the home and power button untill it comes up with the above

3. Connect

Just connect you iDevice to itunes and it will come up with the followingThen restore from there

4. Contact

Contact Apple for help to see what to do

5. If all of the above fails, then you must go to the Apple Store and let them restore it. Takes up to 3 hours

6. Warranty

Hopefully you still have your warranty, so go to the Apple Store and tell them that your iDevice is screwed and i still hav my warranty

7. If You

Are reading this tip it means that you : Dont have warranty, can't enter PWNED DFU Mode or DFU Mode, cannot restore or connect with itunes and the Apple Company and Apple Store Can't fix it. You will have to throw yours away as you cannot get any money for it and you cant trade it in to swap, or absolutely SMASH it and then get a new iDevice

my 4g 8gb ipod touch is the same it won't turn on, but if i leave it for a while i can turn it back on for a bit then randomly turns off and then won't restart. i'v tryed everything restoring it, charging it, restoring it in itunes even syncing it with a differnt itunes and it hasnt worked. help please =)

I am having a similar problem my ipod touch 3G it won't turn all the way on. Just the apple logo shows then it turns off. I have tried holding down home and power and still nothing. Oddly enough it works when hooked up to my docking station or my car but won't turn on when I plug it into my computer. I miss my ipod 😟 if anyone has done anything to fix this I would greatly appreciate the help.

dont worry, this has happened to me and i have just fixed it!!

do this:

press and hold down the lock button and the home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. keep doing this until the apple logo appears.

Yes my ipod got turn off when i was updating it. it said that it had go stuck in recovery mode(9) idk

hold both the power and home button for 30sec's till the apple logo shows

I have an Ipod Touch 3G, 8GB and have done everything that has been posted in this and other forums. I've plugged it into the computer/Itunes and nothing. I've charged it on AC with Apple Ipod charger...nothing. I've done the power button/home button thing...nothing. What is the next step...why is this happening? Why doesn't Apple post some kind of solution or info on what should be done. Very disappointing because I've got tons of pics, apps, and songs on it that I don't think that I can ever retrieve. I know that Steve Jobs is now gone...RIP...but there has to be someone in IT that can help us all out!!

try pluging ipod in to mains out let and leave for 2hrs then try pluging in to computer
