i dont know if this will help you, but try it.
1. Connect your ipod to itunes
2. hold home and lock button for 10-15 sec
3.Once you see on itunes, it will say ipod in recovery mode
4. exit recovery mode by holding home and lock button for 10 sec
5. ipod should restart, boot up and work again.
Hope i helped
(btw it just happenned to me and got it running)
Hooray, worked for me,
Any idea why it does it in the first place ?
Cheers
Wow ! Thanks honey, it worked .
I connected my iPod to the computer and went on iTunes but nothing's showing up, what do I do?
Press the Home and Power button for over 5 seconds. I had the same problem, it worked for me.

Thanks a lot. It worked.
A better question than a snotty retort to why are you providing an answer to the issue that works is "Why is this still happening?" The hold both buttons solution didn't work for me. I left it unplugged about two weeks until the battery died then tried charging it again. That worked for me out of desperation.
is there another option because it didnt worked for me
All the options are already in this long (427 replies) discussion
