Thank you very much, MC02138 - your solution worked very well for me after more than two hours of re-installing MS Office 2010 in various ways.

This also fixes a problem with an Excel crash every time I type text into a text box (not a cell, but an inserted text box).

Great to find the solution via Google. . . I was on hold with MS for an hour and then their system hung up on me when they transferred me to support, and I called back with my case number and waited for another hour while the phone continued to right with no answer. . . and I found this while sleuthing around, waiting. . . Hopefully others with this problem in Excel will come across this answer a lot quicker.

Yes, thank you for this forum because I have been frantically trying to fix this. I chose US for keyboard which comes up as "enabled" which solves the problem!

OMG...thanks so much MC02138...you saved...well, not my life, but several hours of it with this fix. This after I just spent the last weekend completely rebuilding the BC partition after an unrecoverable Win7 crash. This is my first post ever to a forum and I am just ecstatic to have it be a reply to your fix...thanks!

English
“US”
(United States (Apple) (Default) should be bold and enabled already, add this second one)
