HDCP error and netflix apple tv 2

I am extremely frustrated... I've updated my firmware on my Samsung TV. I have a hdcp compliant TV and cables. I've reset/unplugged the tv and apple tv several times and I can't get rid of this error. Can anyone help me?

I tested my Apple TV in the bedroom with different cables, without my hdmi switch etc., didn't work. Took it in the bedroom, hooked it up to that tv, worked like a charm. I'll have to try the sleep thing in the support article, I suspect it won't work...

As for tv firmware, my tv is too old for that. I really don't want to have to buy a digital to analog converter and then plug it in w/ component cables!!!

Well, if i remember correctly, a netflix phone rep told me it may be a bandwidth issue causing the error message. All I know is with a higher powered router and everything hard wired no no error messages in a while now. I have gotten a couple momentary freeze ups, if the xbox, 2 computers, ipad and ipod are all hogging bandwidth, but not like before.

My "not-so-smart" TV in the room works like a charm with the exisiting HDMI cable and ATV. As soon as I move the same set up to my few-years-old Samsung in the living room, the error message appears. The error applies to Netflix and the home video we shot on our iPhones (we tried to play via Airplay). Believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING to fix this issue, no solutions have been found so far. I do believe there is something to do with the firmware, and Apple could absolutely fix it.

I've had this problem off and on, and the solution has changed with each firmware update. Unplugging HDMI cables or powering off atv2 or the tv no longer works... the problem is now my router! Whenever we have low bandwidth, either because we have too many wifi devices, or my flaky cable company can't keep up with demand, I get the HDCP error.

Bottom line: unplug your router, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, reset your cable modem. Problem solved (for now).
