iOS 4.2.1 & Bluetooth Problems?

Have any of you experienced problems with iOS 4.2.1 recognizing your bluetooth device? I have 2 bluetooth headsets, and my iPhone 4 will not find the connection. It says it is searching, but continues to "search" without finding the devices and I have made sure they are turned on as well.

iPhone 4, iOS 4, updated to 4.2.1

Add me to the list. Just bought an iPhone 4 and tried to pair it with the bluetooth in my 2010 Audi a4...my phone found the device but never successfully paired with it. I tried my wife's Nokia flipphone and it paired up with my car immediately.

Downloaded 4.2.1 and still no pairing. Apple care suggested I restore the original settings and try again - no dice.

Now they suggested I tap the Audi device when it is trying (unsuccessfully) to pair with my phone and see if that does anything. I'll give it a try this evening, but I'm not optimistic...

I too have the same problems with my 3GS, I 'updated' to 4.2.1 last week and since then I can not connect to the Volvo 2009 factory fit car kit, prior to this integration was perfect.
The first thing I tried was to delete the pairing and create a new pair but it hasn't made any difference, the audio comes out through the phone even though "My Car" is the selected output in the call menu.

There is also a factory fit USB iPod integration giving stereo integration with the iPhone that has worked perfectly until now.
I now get the "this accessory is not supported" and "unreadable" in displayed on the stereo screen.

This really is disappointing, Apple need to stick to communications protocols when designing 'Updates' I paid a lot of money to ensure the integration of apple products to my car but now I can not use the phone or play music!

Please sort this out Apple!

Just an update - the fix Applecare suggested to me appears to have worked. My new iPhone 4 would not pair with the built in bluetooth of my 2010 Audi A4. The iPhone would list the Audi device, but never connect. The Applecare agent suggested that I tap the Audi device on the iPhone display while it was attempting to pair to see what happens. I did that, and immediately the pin keypad appeared on the iPhone display. I entered "1-2-3-4", which is the default pin for my Audi, and the iPhone and bluetooth connected. I made a phone call using the hands free device, and it worked perfectly. Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

Hi there!

I have some problems to pair my iPhone 3GS with my PIONEER Car Radio since the update to 4.x. With Firmware 3.x everything worked fine. Now I can use Handsfree to make phone calls, but I can establish a BT Audio connection only for one time. When I turn off my car and the radio, it reconnects only for phone, not for BT Audio. What's wrong?

Greetz!

Well, I'm not sure what's wrong, but try some basic troubleshooting steps. Go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings. Then Settings/General/Bluetooth, tap on the arrow to the right of entry for the Pioneer and then Forget This Device.

Now reboot the phone (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears, ignoring Slide to power off) and pair the device and the phone again.

problems here too..I have Audi A6 ( 6 month old)
Phone worked great on bluetooth until the update....since the update my phone contact list won't export through the bluetooth to the car and voice mail with Vodaphone won't work on handsfree !
I cannot get any call history up on the car menus either.
Help Apple please supply a fix update.

Reading all the complaints and through experience there is something simply wrong with the OS 4.X.X and bluetooth. My bluetooth worked great with all my past iPhones and with any earpiece I used. (I mainly use Jawbones.) Ever since I got the iPhone 4 I have had to stop using an earpiece. Just not reliable.

Apple you obviously screwed up something that was working. Take the programming from the OS 3.X.X and *CUT AND PASTE* it into OS 4. (sarcasm for dramatic affect)
