ITUNES APP STORE WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD WITH EXISTING APPLE ID

Hey,

I've been trying to create a free itunes app store account. First I read the instructions in this link : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, but the link shows how to create a new account, the problem is that I already have a Apple ID.

On the other hand when I try to sign in in the app store with my existing Apple ID, I get the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store please review your account information" with two options "cancel" and "review".

Clicking in review, I go to the page with the terms of service, continuing I go to a page where I have to type my email, my password, question and answer for the password and my birth date. The email field has the email that is being used with my current Apple ID, and the password field has the password of my existing Apple ID. The other fields are blank. Completing them, and clicking in next I go to the payment options page, but there's no "none" option, so I can't make a account withou using a credit card.

Is there a way to create a itunes app store without a credit card with my existing apple ID, or a I have to create a new one ?

Chris CA *thinks* that because he is not experiencing the problem that it does not exist, and/or it is somehow solved for you and me.

I have posted pictures of the None option NOT appearing after trying to download a free app and rather than provide any helpful information so that this issue may be resolved, he posts pictures showing that he is not experiencing the problem along with a very snarky reply.

Then if you call him out for not providing a helpful resolution he will report your post to the admin and get them to either edit them or have them removed. Then he actually has the tenacity to call you a troll.... Totally ignoring the amount of time he spends here and the number of posts he has written to intentionally aggravate people. Me included!

Chris,

Please provide a working solution. "It's working for me" is hardly on topic of providing a resolution to a problem. Your posts have been made to purposely illicit an emotional response. And you call people Trolls?

The only reason I stay subscribed to this thread is to monitor for a solution. I am sick and tired of Chris insulting people here because, "It works for me"

You are being wholly inconsiderate to the people you are “trying” to “help”

Whatch how fast he replies and how fast he reports this post to be removed... But he will call you a "Troll"

Bottom line: I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never wrote that anywhere.

I do not want a username wrote that I do not have the None option ("and it clearly forces you to enter a CC number.") but I do..=

Chris,

Please provide a working solution.

I have posted how it works a number of times but you tell me it does not work for me.

Posts don't get removed/edited unless they are against the ToS (such as childish, rude and insulting posts) SImply reporting them does not get them removed.

Then you must be reading somewhere else, because I don't believe there are any insults by me. If there are, I apologize (and feel free to report them).

Believing and beliefs are based upon what you know and experience. Try empathizing with our situation and you might understand why I find your posts wholly insulting. Just imagine that you are still experiencing this after following the supposed "resolution" to this issue. Then go read your posts.. How helpful is "It's working for me"?

Helping people starts with listening. PS your response was even quicker than I could imagine. Too bad you cannot put your energy to more constructive things.

ye.. i am having this problem too.. chris's "solution" isn't working. I have $20 registered to my account and it's telling me to verify my billing information.. i can't even access the account without putting in a credit card because there's no "none" option.this is a load of bull and apple is stealing my $20!!

Chris is doing no help here.. apparently, he thinks he has a working solution because it worked for HIM and no one else.

"The original poster (whom you replied to) has not been here in 17 months."

That says it all right there.

This problem has been recurring for dozens of people for close to

a year and a half and yet it still persists without formal acknowledgement, investigation,

or resolution on the part of Apple ... I refer to my previous statement,

Typical.

Perhaps you could be a bit more clear.

Also, you already have an iTunes account (since you have put a $20 gift card on it).

What?

You HAVE to access the account before you can put in a credit card.

Don't try to purchase or get a free app (yet).

Select the iTunes store.

Click Sign in or click your account name at top right of iTunes.

Then click View account then select Billing info.

I tried the way that"hchagger" recommended and it worked

you should all try this, it really worked

I didn't have the "none"option but I finally found the solution

it's all about HOW did you create your account. There are two ways; if you follow one way you will get the none option but if you follow the other way, you won't.

So the main way is to actually click"Create Account" in the Store menu, which is what most people tend to do. If you do it this way, you won't see "None" listed in the payment options—you have to choose a method of payment to proceed.

The second way is to sign out from itunes then go and install completely free app. it will ask you either to sign in using existing account or to create a new account. Choose to create a new account and follow the instruction. this time you will get the "NONE" option ((( NOTE: if you choose to create a new account, you can't use your previous email address because it's already used in your previous apple ID ))) you have to put a new email address.

This Work.. Thanks 🙂

I was given this Mac to evaluate and use in my office. Why in the world would I need to put my personal credit card for official use and that to just downloading updates to the preloaded apps. There is no "None" option where the credit cards information is asked. Coming from a PC/Android world it does look like Apple wants a stranglehold on your wallet. Earlier if you had put an email to Steve he would listen, but now that he is gone, it is like asking Santa if he can knock some senses into Apple.

So far my experience has been negative on the mac. Since I did not pay for it, it does not hurt my wallet but does give me an opportunity to influence decisions concerning mac and apple ecossystem.

Btw I got burned by the mac book pro doing heavy java development , why do they even call this a laptop if it is a fire hazard.
