ITUNES APP STORE WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD WITH EXISTING APPLE ID

Hey,

I've been trying to create a free itunes app store account. First I read the instructions in this link : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, but the link shows how to create a new account, the problem is that I already have a Apple ID.

On the other hand when I try to sign in in the app store with my existing Apple ID, I get the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store please review your account information" with two options "cancel" and "review".

Clicking in review, I go to the page with the terms of service, continuing I go to a page where I have to type my email, my password, question and answer for the password and my birth date. The email field has the email that is being used with my current Apple ID, and the password field has the password of my existing Apple ID. The other fields are blank. Completing them, and clicking in next I go to the payment options page, but there's no "none" option, so I can't make a account withou using a credit card.

Is there a way to create a itunes app store without a credit card with my existing apple ID, or a I have to create a new one ?

Hi,

This is what I had to do get past this problem and I had to use a credit card. In my situation I did not want my personal credit card be stored in the apple databases permanently because it is my work laptop from office. Also I have heard that the apple ITunes and AppStore getting hacked to get customer credit cards. I used my office issued corporate card to get into the app store login process, then I went and logged in using the ITunes application and on the right hand side you will see accounts.

Click on Edit and you will see this screen, and select NONE option to remove it from the account.

For those who are not old enough to have a credit card, please take the help of an adult to log you in and remove the card from the account.

I am also a new to the Mac world, coming from the Windows/Linux and Google world and I can see what Apple is doing wrong. I am not an Apple Fan boy and will never be and I wont spend a dime on them personally. It is my office laptop so I don't mind to use it as I am a unix/linux friendly geek.

Hope this helps everyone.

I have found a solution... If you can't read the "None" option...

Insert the data of a credit card (it's better if is a pre-paid card) and complete the registration procedure..

After this, I've downloaded a content of 0,79 euro, so I've entered in my account and from this moment I can see the option NONE in the methods of payment, and I've selected it!!! :-D

I don't know if works even if you don't buy anything after the introduction of the credit card data ..

Bye

I'm getting very frustrated with this also, obviously. There is no NONE options available despite having a U.S. address and not wanting to put in any credit card options. But hey, I'm just a drop in the ocean for Apple so I guess they can afford to lose me, although I still hate myself for having clicked the "I Agree" on the page of the iPad before I could use it. (it does seem like an improvement over having a USB dongle picture before you could do anything with it). With that, I guess I can't return the iPad anymore.

On that note, I am creating an AppleID because I have no choice but to support this product in my ex-company for which I do remember managing to create an AppleID without credit card. I can think of a thousand other reasons why some people would not want to use a credit card on their AppleID but that's not a world Apple wants to cater for. Apple = Consumers. If you are an enterprise, think Microsoft or something else. Really!

Wow. This is annoying. I'm trying to just test some stuff on an ipad at my company and there's no way to proceed without entering CC info.

You were trying to download something from the iTunes Store?

I'll definitely be sticking with Android tablets myself.

That's probably the best for you to do.

Also, to post to this forum I had to login 3 times on 3 different pages. That is ridiculous.

That is ridiculous. Don't know why you would have to log in three times. Perhaps it's best if you stick with Android.
