ITUNES APP STORE WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD WITH EXISTING APPLE ID

Hey,

I've been trying to create a free itunes app store account. First I read the instructions in this link : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, but the link shows how to create a new account, the problem is that I already have a Apple ID.

On the other hand when I try to sign in in the app store with my existing Apple ID, I get the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store please review your account information" with two options "cancel" and "review".

Clicking in review, I go to the page with the terms of service, continuing I go to a page where I have to type my email, my password, question and answer for the password and my birth date. The email field has the email that is being used with my current Apple ID, and the password field has the password of my existing Apple ID. The other fields are blank. Completing them, and clicking in next I go to the payment options page, but there's no "none" option, so I can't make a account withou using a credit card.

Is there a way to create a itunes app store without a credit card with my existing apple ID, or a I have to create a new one ?

A big improvement, but NO, NOT reliably working still ... The problem with most of these posts is that they give anecdotal data. Would be nice if we had some sort of survey mechanism here that could tell us the percentage of people that are satisfied...

Anway, that said, the original problem for me was that Last Played and play count (Plays), for tunes which are less than 11 seconds would not get update after the track is played (Crossfade or no Crossfade did not matter for me).

Now, at least there's a BIG improvement, but there is still a lingering problem, that seems to suggest a race condition. I test for this bعلاج تأخر الحملy 1) creating a SmartList of all Music less than 11 seconds (so that the longer items don't get in the way), 2) sort by Time (ascending

Hi,

This is what I had to do get past this problem and I had to use a credit card. In my situation I did not want my personal credit card be stored in the apple databases permanently because it is my work laptop from office. Also I have heard that the apple ITunes and AppStore getting hacked to get customer credit cards. I used my office issued corporate card to get into the app store login process, then I went and logged in using the ITunes application and on the right hand side you will see accounts.

Click on Accounts and you will see your credit card information there.

Click on Edit and you will see this screen, and select NONE option to remove it from the account.

For those who are not old enough to have a credit card, please take the help of an adult to log you in and remove the card from the account.

I am also a new to the Mac world, coming from the Windows/Linux and Google world and I can see what Apple is doing wrong. I am not an Apple Fan boy and will never be and I wont spend a dime on them personally. It is my office laptop so I don't mind to use it as I am a unix/linux friendly geek.

Hope this helps everyone.

I agree, Don. I can't believe more people haven't found this to be an unacceptable business practice. Thank you for posting. I know this is a user driven forum, but I'm sure Apple pays attention to hot button issues. And if more people complain about it, they'll eventually fix it. I know if it were my product, I would pay attention to the user community.

Also, I've tried setting up a new e-mail account. It doesn't work either.

I'm not sure why some "higher level" users on this forum think there is still a "None" option and keep instructing people to use it. There isn't one. I'm a computer programmer - it's not like I'm a novice computer user fumbling about and not finding it. I've tried every angle to get past entering a credit card number and there just isn't one in versions 10.4 or 10.5. I find this completely horrendous and wonder why other people don't have a problem with it. All of the free apps out there that I can't get to...

Add one more, everwhere I hear the following: "Just pick the "None" option."

I couldn't get it with a new account, or with an existing account, not in the itunes store not in the apps store, even tried several different countries. I don't own a credit card and I don't want to own a creditcard, Honestly, I don't even really need or want that I-Pad or any of the apps that badly, in fact, I don't want to pay apple for anything whatsoever. My employer says it's mandatory to use the Ipad for my job, as such I need an alternative, besides asking my boss to provide me with a company credit card. (especcially since this is an internship at a government institution and I'm fairly sure they won't agree to that.)

Thanks, that last one really worked.

For all of you missing the "None" button, just select "Paypal" (if you don't have the paypal button either just, change your location to USA, the paypal button will appear), after that the next page will have a "Redem ..." link, select it, you will be asked to sign in again, do it, and you will restart all the review process again, but this time the confirm payment page will have the "None" option.

It worked for me, hoppe some of you have the same luck.
