ITUNES APP STORE WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD WITH EXISTING APPLE ID

Hey,

I've been trying to create a free itunes app store account. First I read the instructions in this link : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, but the link shows how to create a new account, the problem is that I already have a Apple ID.

On the other hand when I try to sign in in the app store with my existing Apple ID, I get the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store please review your account information" with two options "cancel" and "review".

Clicking in review, I go to the page with the terms of service, continuing I go to a page where I have to type my email, my password, question and answer for the password and my birth date. The email field has the email that is being used with my current Apple ID, and the password field has the password of my existing Apple ID. The other fields are blank. Completing them, and clicking in next I go to the payment options page, but there's no "none" option, so I can't make a account withou using a credit card.

Is there a way to create a itunes app store without a credit card with my existing apple ID, or a I have to create a new one ?

Okay people this is how I do it all the time.

On your pc or mac with iTunes open, go to Store > View My Account > Click "Edit" for payment type, here you

shouldl have options to pay for visa, mc, amex, discover, paypal & NONE ...select w/e and save. Age selection

does NOT have to be set to get around this. This is the only way I am aware of setting payment type to none for

an existing account. It has always worked for me, I am constantly adding and removing my paypal account, I have also walked friends through using these same steps, ...just make sure you are doing this via Itunes on a

computer, not ipad/ipod/iphone...

nale86, that doesn’t show up if your PREEXISTING Apple ID HASN’T been used in the store before. You have to have entered some sort of payment information your first time through to be able to edit your account and select “none”, as you describe. Otherwise, how can you edit your account, which has never been used with iTunes before, if there is no way to log in?

nale86, go here (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/), create a new Apple ID, and then try to get into the iTunes Store without entering some sort of payment information. “None”, as described anywhere on Apple’s websites, DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE. If you haven’t created your Apple ID THROUGH ItUNES, this error pops up, AND IT *****!

Chris CA, the license agreement/terms of service/privacy policy for App Store/iTunes/whatever CLEARLY STATES that all submitted information must be accurate. Birth dates count. A Judge can likely grant some leniency in the case of working around a technical bug, but outright misinformation is, legally, unacceptable (to the extent to which the terms of service can be applied to anyone).

Not to mention that adults appearing to be trying to pass themselves off as teenagers or younger is REALLY sketchy.

It does for me and it did for Nate.

Wow, you reeally can't even folow yoru own conversation, can you?

fuzzy-logic79 said to change the birthday to get None to show up.

I simply wrote that changing the birthday is not required. If it is incorrect, chagnge it to make it correct. The info (any of it) simply needs to be changed to force the system to update the record.

Yes, the info should all be correct when you are done.

No one suggested anything about being deceptive, innaccurate, illegal or posting disinformation.

Doing what was said PREVIOUS to the birthday changing suggestion DOES NOT WORK. Hence, all my questions revolved around trying something that was suggested as working (even if it doesn’t).

Make a new Apple ID from here (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/) and try to do what you suggest. YOU CAN’T EDIT AN ItUNES ACCOUNT THAT DOES NOT EXIST YET. However, YOU CAN HAVE AN APPLE ID WITHOUT AN ItUNES ACCOUNT! You will be forced to try to sign in with the new account, only to get “This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information.”. When you try to review it, to include the necessary details the iTunes Store requires, you INEVITABLY get the “Review Payment Information” screen WITHOUT the option to select “None”.

Make the **** account, and see for yourself. You will likely see something you’ve never seen before, BECAUSE YOU NEVER TESTED THIS ISSUE UNDER THE CORRECT CIRCUMSTANCES. For bonus points, post a screencap log, just to prove that you’ve done it. But it has to be an ACTUAL NEW ACCOUNT through the above link.

You never made a new Apple ID. You're just trying to pass off a bogus screenshot that merely LOOKS like the correct page. Do it again, but make a new Apple ID this time. You'll find the "None" button inexplicably absent.

Go here: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/

Create a new Apple ID.from that page.

Try to create a new iTunes account with the new Apple ID. OMG! Epic fail! No "None" selection!!! How can this be??? Well, I don't know either, but there it is. Just do it, apologize for your ignorance, and fade off into the mists never to be heard from again.

If you don't duplicate the conditions of the problem, YOUR CONCLUSIONS ARE INVALID TO THAT PROBLEM!

This isn't about not following directions. If I WANTED to make a brand-new Apple ID from within iTunes, I'm sure it would work just fine. But with a PREEXISTING Apple ID, WITHOUT an iTunes account, for no comprehensible reason, the "None" button is mysteriously absent. Now do everything IN ORDER, or just shut up until someone ACTUALLY helpful comes along.

Mar 12, 2012 12:56 AM in response to Chris CA

You should because the issue, in THE TITLE ITSELF, is how to gain entry to the iTunes App store with a PREEXISTING Apple ID that has NEVER BEEN USED WITH IT BEFORE, while not handing out anything that might lead to a payment. EVERYONE knows that once you get in, you can select "None". Everyone ALSO knows that, if you create the Apple ID from WITHIN iTunes, you can select "None". THE VERY QUESTION IN THE TITLE is about whether you can do it with an Apple ID created OUTSIDE of iTunes; perhaps through Apple's Website, as I mentioned, or as part of a new System Install, or any other source not linked directly to iTunes, iPhones, or other mechanisms which involve no form of payment information.

You purport to solve the stated problem without actually reading it.

Create a new Apple ID at Apple's site, as I mentioned, and THEN try to find that **** "None" button. You won't find it. It isn't there. After creating it, follow your own **** advice as much as you like, and YOU WON'T FIND IT.

Don't claim to have solved someone's problem if you haven't even TRIED to solve it.
