Your Apple ID has been disabled!?

After I had to change my cc# due to a security breach, I can't down load new apps or update the old ones. I am logged onto iTunes, and apple with the new info, but iPad says- "your apple I D. has been disabled." yikes!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I have the same problem and today I sent a third email to apple support. Never heard back from them so far. It lets me loging but no new app downloads for me. My account has been hacked and a chinese user bought 5 $20 allowances from my account. Fortunately, Paypal gave me full refund instantly while Apple didn't even care to reply to any of my support emails. Funny part is I get emails from them asking if I am satisfied with the help they provided me.

I changed my password, credit card, etc but still no luck.

I'm in the same boat. Got my $800+ ipad2 on Saturday and quickly found out that my Apple ID had been disabled because of some illicit PayPal/itunes activity, which occurred last October. Of course I immediately e-mailed Apple support with my problem.

Well, I just got a response from "Raghavendra" at 10am today telling me what I need to do. Then she ends the message by telling me her work schedule has her going off duty at 1pm CST TODAY....3 hours from when she sends this message....and not returning until Thursday!

So if she doesn't enable my account in the next two hours, I've got an $800 paperweight which I just may have to return, and say "Screw it." lol

I went through the steps in the support page Vinmar posted, regained access into my account page by password reset through proof of ID, was able to reactivate my app updates and purchases fairly quickly. I still have no indication as to why this happened.

My issue was a pop-up telling me my Apple ID was disabled listing security concerns as the issue, I was not trusting of Apples button choices of 'Cancel' or 'Reset'. Much more information on the nature of the error/issue should be available, such as what, why, and what are we actually 'resetting'?

Thanks Vinmar, and Chris, yes, you do post with an extremely condescending manner. Fitting for an Apple support forum really.

The problem with all of this is that, sure, following the steps gets you back into your account, but whatever locked you out in the first place is likely to occur again. I've reset my password 5+ times over the last month and assume there will be no end to it. I hate that my only recourse is a forum and a web form that will likely be read by some guy that is only intersted in solving the locked account problem and not the recurring account locked problem. Yeah, I'm sure some smart *** like Chris will ask me if I followed the directions or if I've virus scanned my computer and the answer is yes, yes, and yes. I want ip addresses of whom is causing the security breach, the times of day they are doing it, and the failed combinations they are using so I can tell whether this is a device with a cached password or if it is actually a malicious user. Answer me that.

p.s. I hate the apple.

I had a simular situation where I had an app on my iPhone 4 say there was a update due. I updated it through the App Store on my phone and then the next day I got an email saying there was a $4.99 charge for the app purchase. But obviously this wasn't a new purchase, it was supposed to just be an update. I emailed iTunes support with the issue via the "Report a problem" link in the email receipt I got.

After about 24 hours I got a reply and they said:

"To prevent further purchasing, I have disabled your account and have disallowed your Credit card from being used on the iTunes Store. Please note that you can enable your iTunes Store account in the future by providing specific information to iTunes Store support, as described at the end of this email."

Um, why in the **** would you disable the CC from my iTunes account? I never said there were frodulent charges, just an app that shouldn't have been charged. This was almost a week ago now and I'm still having issues logging in properly and they said they will investigate why my CC was basically "banned" from being used on my iTunes account. I finally changed the card I have in there but even still I get the error "Your Apple ID has been disabled" and nothing I seem to do fixes the issue. I'm still awaiting further replies from the emails I've been sending.

People, if you get this "your apple id has been disabled" please check your credit card statement associated with your apple itunes account. I got this error today, tried to reset my password which didn't help. When I opened my bank account I noticed 2 $50.00 charges from apple itunes store. I'm assuming both were purchases of itunes cards. I called customer service and they are looking into it. I wonder if their has been a rash of itunes hacking going on?

Had the same problem. Turned out that when I disputed a charge from iTunes, my Apple ID was immediately disabled (a little heavy handed IMHO). Since apps are purchased, downloaded, updated, upgraded via the App Store (iTunes) you need to go to the iTunes store to resolve. They were responsive, helpful and fixed the problem right away.
