I too have the same issue after update to 10.6.8, all the suggestion here didn't work for me.

Obviously i now cant update to Lion when it's released.

I've done everything bar reinstalling system, surely i shouldn't have to do that??

PLEASE, any ideas, every other forum has the same advice about deleting network interfaces and plist files but this just does not work.

I have also had the same problem after upgrading to 10.6.8. But just tried to login to Appstore a minute ago and it worked fine again. I haven't done anything ex. deleting NetworkInterfaces.plist, or modifying com.apple.Boot.plist. Maybe they have fixed the problem?!

Anyway.. maybe this solution could work for some of you:

I have the problem with the following machine:

Model Name: MacBook Pro

Model Identifier: MacBookPro4,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 6 MB

Memory: 4 GB

Bus Speed: 800 MHz

Boot ROM Version: MBP41.00C1.B03

I have reformatted and gone back to the clean OSX 10.6.8 install and still nothing.
