MacBook Pro 2011 17" hard freeze
Just a little disillusioned and concerned, wondering if anyone else there has experienced a hard freeze like this.
macbook pro 17" 2011, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I've learned not to be first in line to any product launch. I hate silent fixes.
Take a look at the earlier post regarding the serial ata. There seems to be a sneaky upgrade and I have the later 1.
I have run this FLAT OUT overnight and not a problem.Hope you get yours fixed
Phil
Downloaded 10.6.7 last week and stil am having constant freezing, overheating, vents, on my 13 mbp.
Thanks grafixjoe.
Thanks so much for that confidence boost up.
I am determined to buy one shortly, just arranging for finances in one account so that I can order it peacefully here in England.
Thanks Eveeta. Thats exactly the same model I am looking forward to get with Hi Res Antiglare Screen.
Please do keep me posted on how you go with your replaced MBP.
Thanks Again
Thanks gldb,
Great to hear another happy story.. Fingers crossed.
Hope it continues to run great now
Cheers!

What did you do to get it to freeze up? I want to do the same test at my local apple store. I will post the results here.
I find it awesome that when a mac freezes it's such a big deal. because in windows it happens all the time. still new to mac and i'm loving it. just sayin' 😀
You lost 6 months of work because you didn't backup not because of the system you used.
just a thought - is the problem still affecting both 17'' and 15'' i7 mbp 2011 or has it been solved for the 15'' crowd following 10.6.7 update?
i have 15"2001 mb pro, with 10 6 8 update, but it still crashes 3-4 times per week
The exactly same problem found in my 13" mbp and all 3 logic board.
Not RAM problem, I've tried different RAM.
send it back - get a refund
I agree
Apple are in the iCloud these days and don't give a **** if anyone has problems with hardware
