i cannot transfer purchases from my ipad to my pc

for over a month now, i could not been able to transfer purchases from my ipad to itunes. when i try this manually, a very quick count of transferring is shown in the info panel in itunes (approx. 10 seconds). But nothing is actually transferred to my hdd. My problem is i have around 600 apps installed on my ipad.
Please be sure about these before answering to my thread :
- My pc is authorised for certain.
- i' ve tried the "deauthorising-authorising again" action with no luck
- i' ve only used one itunes account while purchasing the apps.
- i' ve uninstalled and installed again for several times (all the apple products (itunes, quicktime, bonjour, mobile device support etc.)
- i' ve an iphone 3gs, authorised with the same PC. and can transfer purchases without any problem.
- for several times; when i connect my ipad to itunes, it urges me to restore to a previous backup. without any choice i do that. I find my notes etc turned to the previous back up version. But i also see the apps (which i cannnot transfer to itunes)remained undeleted.
- i have never jailbreaked anything. I am a good App Store customer.
- what i find while googling, i saw that i am not the only one facing this problem. Several users experienced this over 2 years. the only solution people find and recommend to me is to jailbreak and ssh into the ios system. they say this one :

"It appears to be a permission issue (probably due to the upgrade from 1.x to 2.x).

I changed permissions on a directory and removed a file and it seemed to work again.

chmod g+w /var/mobile/Media/ApplicationArchives/
rm /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.archive.plist"
i don' t want to do this.

- my biggest problem is i cannot upgrade to ios 4.3 because of this bug; because that, i cannot backup. Think of several apps that have files in it and customizations. think of long sized and timed games that are saved in the middle. i cannot start everything from the scratch.
-i cannot purchase them again inside itunes. Because i don' t have the long list of those apps which refuses to transfer.
-this makes ipad unreliable.i cannot trust it anymore while backups are not reliable.
- i have enough space on my hdd
- i am using win7 ultimate x64 and using the latest x64 itunes version.
- of course i tried different usb ports, different original usb cables.
- my hdd is in good state
- nothing is wrong with the iphone backups. I can backup iphone 3gs with the same pc.
- i' ve tried desyncing the music and trying with that, also done this with the movies, podcasts etc.
- i' ve choosen the "sync newly installed apps" option. Also my apps are thicked (choosen for sync).
- For hard reset, when i press the home + sleep button together for 10 seconds, it only shuts down. And shutting down is very fast (maybe 3 seconds).

Before posting here on the forum, i tried the "feedback". There; it was written that feedbacks are not replied. To get a reply, it is written that i should post my problem to the forum where 3 kinds of apple employees watch the posts, some of them have the right to reply threads, but they may not if they don't want to.
The other option is to get a paid express lane support. I still don' t get the idea why i should pay for a faulty device under warranty. And don't understand how Apple can limit the free support for 90 days. Is this legal? I really shocked for the Apple brand with its support services level. One of the world leader electronics companies and despite its hugeness and successes the support is creeping in the ground?!? It is like a very bad joke.

Well, thx. Sorry that it didn' t work. After trying this, i' ve authorised my bro' s laptop and tried to transfer purchases. The same thing happened; very fast counting in the itunes info panel of the apps on my ipad (totally around 20 secs, 35 GBs of apps).

So it seems that the problem may be with a corrupt file on the ipad like it is mentioned in the jailbreaker' s solution (in my first post); not an itunes issue. And i saw that there is an ios update (4.3.1) which may apple has a silent fix in it (there should always be a hope), but if i update, i will loose everything i did for months.

Yes this topic needs to be kept alive.

I have wasted countless hours trying to get my iPad to sync with iTunes. I have over 160 apps on the iPad, but whatever I do only 86 appear in iTunes (and they are old versions too).

Transferring purchases and Syncing goes through a list of all app names but nothing really happens.

I even tried using a different Mac with a clean install of itunes and got the same problem.

I thought that it is only a matter of no being able to get apps from the iPad to iTunes, but I also noticed that the whole syncing process doesn't really work. I deleted and app from iTunes but after syncing with the iPad it was still there on the iPad.

I am starting to think that this might be a problem with the iPad itself.

I have no idea if this would work for you at all or not, but maybe it's worth a shot? Try going into the "Apps" section under your "Library" on the left hand side and delete everything in there (and say yes to recycle them: this won't permanently nuke them). Connect your iPad and then try to transfer purchases and see if that helps. I had to do that when I got my new iPad because it wasn't copying over any save game data. I found that this essentially reset things for me and renewed my app state. Dunno, maybe it won't work for you. But it certainly won't hurt, as it's not doing anything to the device itself.

I've been experiencing the same problem.

1. Cannot sync apps downloaded to Ipad to Itunes,

2. Cannot "transfer purchases" from my Ipad to Itunes,

3. Itunes tries to reinstall all my apps whenever I sync my Ipad to Itunes, and

4. Itunes reports error when trying to install apps already in Ipad (0xe800002D)

Was searching high and low until found this solution and it works !!!!

1. Right Click on Itunes, and run as Administrator

and / or

2. Go to the directory in Windows C:\Users\All Users\Apple and rename the folder "Lockdown" to "Lockdown_old" Itunes will recreate the folder again when it next syncs

Hi All

I don't know if this will work for you, but it is so simple it is easy to forget. Have you checked that you have signed in with the right account name? It may sound stupid but the same problem happened to someone I know who spent ages trying to ""authorise" a computer that was already authorised. He had originally used another account to buy some of the apps.
