Not Connecting to AIM - other topics didn't help

Two weeks ago, I had no problems using iChat. Everything worked just fine.
But since a few days I can not connect to Jabber or AIM: I always get the same message, incorrect username or password. Connecting to Jabber, ialso get a "insecure connection" warning before the "username or password incorrect" message.

I tried:

- checking my password (jabber and aim, both were correct)
- deactivate my internal Mac OS X firewall
- Connection to the Internet via modem, not as usual with my wireless router
- reinstall ichat using pacifist
- deleting all com.apple.ichat... plist files

What can I try to get iChat working again??
I can't remember changing anything in my systm settings.

Hi Ralph,

I'm using the standard T-Online DSL modem to connect to the internet built by Siemens.
In my settings I chose the PPPoE protocol to connect.

Although my Netgear WGR 614 Router is currently not connected, the error message still appears and I can't connect.

I think it must have something to do with my powerbook settings. While connecting, the built-in Mac firewall was turned off, but it didn't help.
