Wrong Apple ID: How do I change the Apple ID prompt when Updating All Apps?

How can I change the (wrong) Apple ID from the password prompting dialogue when I am already signed in Apple Store with my own ID?

More details of my problem:
When I try the Apps' Update-All option in my iPod 4, the password dialogue prompts me with my girlfriend's Apple ID; YET, I AM signed in the Apple Store with MY own Apple ID.
I have already verified my ID under Settings/Store. I have also signed out, signing back in with my Apple ID, just in case. No problems there, for I DO sign in with my own ID ok. The problem is just the prompt dialogue for password, when I try to use the 'Update All' feature it prompts me for password with her ID, not mine.
If I go back to Apps and choose the Categories (or Top25) menu, at the bottom of the page, it shows me signed in (my Apple ID). If I try to update one Apps it will do ok. But if I try to Update All it will prompt me for password using her ID, waiting for me to type in HER password. I cannot change the Apple ID on that dialogue (static). If I use my password, it will return the "wrong password" dialogue.

How can I change the prompt for the Update All? What is going on here that I AM signed in but my iPod prompts me with her ID. My iPod is registered under my Apple ID. I have already tried the Hard reset by pressing Home and Power buttons simultaneously, to no avail. I am also using my own network to go Online. I am also with the latest OS in my iPod and my Mac's iTunes.
Thank you!
PS This problem is not occurring in my iPhone 4 (same account) nor my Macs.

iMac, MacBook, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4, Mac OS X (10.6.5), intel core 2 duo

Im having excactly the same issue. The App store is showing 13 new updates, but hwen i try and update it, its asing me for my old apple id password, which is no longer valid. I have done the following, which DID NOT fix my issue:

1. Performed a password reset of my new apple ID (tested login, Suscessfully signed in)

2. Settings --> General --> Store, and logged in as my new Apple ID (Suscessfully signed in)

3. App Store --> Categories --> scroll down to the bottom, and signed in as my new Apple ID (Suscessfully signed in)

When i Click update on my installed apps, it's still asking me for a password for my OLD apple ID....

It took nearly 2 weeks of e-mail back and forth with iTunes Support but, thanks to a tenacious Support person, I got the problem resolved.

Tried many things and ended up by him setting up another Apple ID and password to replace the old one that kept coming up when I tried to update apps purchased under that old ID.

Now, (1) the ID he set up comes up (and works with the password he set up) when there are updates for apps purchased under the old original ID and (2) the new ID that I set up, that originally seemed to cause the problem, comes up when there are updates for apps purchased under it.

I make new purchases only under the new ID I set up.

I don't know about the rest of you but I usually carry some sort of cash balance associated to my Apple ID account. I don't much pay attention to the exact amount, up until now I have trusted Apple to manage my account and that my balance was in fact accurate.

In light of their inability to keep Apple IDs straight .... and it is clear that based on this issue then cannot, I'm now wondering if my cash balance has been accurately kept??? The good thing is I don't keep so high a cash balance that if my account has been mis-managed, it's not been by any significant amount. But then I'm not one of you out there. With the entire iTunes Store dependant on accurate management of accounts by Apple ID, I have one question:

Can we trust Apple to have accurately kept our cash balances in our account if they can't even properly manage the IDs associated with that cash????????

Hi,

I have been reading this tread and I am still having the stupid wrong Apple ID on my iPad.

My Apple ID works on everything else that have the name Apple on it except my iPad. I did reset everything, checkout and than checkin many times, I rebooted about 10 times, I have erased everything that I could erase, my next step will be to throw the iPad in the garbage can since it can't do updates anymore and the App store wont connect either.

I am surprised to see that no one seems to have real answers to this knone issue. I have been with Apple for 4 years now and it seems that the compagny is deviating from is absolute goal of building performant, reliable and easy to use machines.

My iPad act now like it was a Microsoft piece of %^&$$.

Any real help would be very welcome.

Thanks,

Ok,

I have found the way to resolve that issue, I don't think that the answer is in this tread.

You have to connect your iPad (iPhone) to your computer. Open iTune, sync your iPad with iTune, after you did that select your device from the left menu, now click on Store from the top menu, now click on "view my account" and change the Apple ID from there.

After that re-sync your iPad (iPhone)

The problem should be solved by now, it worked for me.

They should an App on how to trouble shoot.....

Good luck and hope that Apple will leave long and strong..

A+

Alright, my issue is finally resolved. There is literally no way to merge 2 accounts together. If you have purchased Apps on account1, then you have to sign into account1 to update those apps. IF you have apps on acount2, then you have to sign into account2 to update those apps.

I have about $100 worth of apps on account1, and like $25 worth of apps on account2.

After spending some time coresponding to apple support, I have finally settled, and went back to my account1, and repurchase all the apps in account2, into account1. I know it su.cks, but there's not much else i can do.

So even if you're signed in as the right account (both in itunes, and in settings -> store, on your apple device), sign out. Then resign in. Sync. That should update your app store to the right account.

rmavery has it right, at least in my case. I changed my apple ID, varified it and everything but when I go to "update all" my apps the old email address would appear and because it was no longer the one I was using, the password ( which stayed the same) was not working.

What I did was, on my phone I went to " Settings" then to "store" and I clicked on the "Apple ID: (blahblah)"

Sign out............ then sign back in using your "exsiting account" and put in the new email and pass that you have already varified on the website and BAM. Magic.

I made the transition a few weeks back [to .me.com], and found put that I could not update/combine my [mobileme.com] .. I also discovered that funds I had at the mobileme account were not transferable to the me account [and could only be used in the "old" account]... So at Apple's advice and much time spent on the phone, I now have funds and apps in my old [mobileme] account.. I also have a need to upgrade Apps with 2 accounts.. I use my 2 Apple ID's to do all this... As previously stated this is not a solution, but a method to work around Apple's inability to combine 2 accounts into 1, as most everybody else can..

I have therefore not purchased an Apple 4S, nor will I purchase the MacBook Air I have been looking to purchase. I am off to Samsung Droid Phones, and PC Ultra Thins for my needs..... Phasing out of Apple works for me....
