ipad app update asks for wrong apple ID

When I check settings, my correct apple ID shows. But when I do an "update apps", the wrong apple ID shows up, with only the password box available for input. What to do?

I still have no answers. I have been into the Apple Store (very nice but no effective solution to solve the problem). I have spoken with an Apple Care Representative in the IMAC department. He felt sorry for me and really tried to help me trouble shoot it (again, super nice but no effective solution). This is my latest email to the Online ITunes Tech Support Department (they have no phone support for ITunes - so I was told).

I have emailed back numerous times. I really need to speak to a person NOT
EMAIL. The response you sent me to my email regarding my iTunes issue was
unacceptable. I do not want or need a generic fix all classic customer service
response. I took the time to write a detailed explanation of my issues with
iTunes. If the website, google, apple discussion forums could have addressed my
issues I would not have taken the time to contact you.
I love my apple products and I own just about every single one of them, but
iTunes is a widespread train wreck as it relates to the store and customer
service. The fact that you don't allow or phone support is ridiculous. I have
left my number before to no avail but here it goes again. (xxx)xxx-xxxx. I have
an issue that cannot be solved with a link to your FAQ links that you sent me
last time.
Please, as a loyal Apple customer I deserve your attention and assistance.

I received an automated response email stating that someone would contact me within 48 hours. I will make sure to post my "progress" and/or any solutions that they offer.

I used the "express lane" support option. An Apple representative--Steve--stayed with me through several email exchanges, and went into my account to find the annoying apple id....it turned out my son was using HIS email as the id, but it was coming up in my name without an email address. Once I logged in under his email, I was able to go in and update apps, and then change everything to use my own id. It was really very personalized service. (I know we all prefer phone, but this seemed to be the next best thing...and it was not an "automated" response.) Good luck!

Still no joy on this for me and may I say Apple support you are a flippin disgrace!

Having raised a query to Apple support on November 6th (and having received an automated response saying, "This is an automated reply, but an iTunes Store representative will be reviewing your request and will send you a personal response soon, generally within 48 hours"), I have heard nothing!

This is where Apple really gets on my nerves, we spend a fortune on all the kit but when there's an issue it appears to get lost in a black hole of indifference.

I have the same issue. I've tried everything and it doesn't work properly. The only way to update my apps right now is either via iTunes sync (works flawlessly this way) or deleting them in the iPad in order to reinstall them with my ID. If i don't delete the app, then the wrong ID (an old of mine) appears again and it doesn't work.

But deleting the app deletes the data associated, which is a major pain...

Please we need a solution... this is innaceptable

Hello All. As promised here's an update to my issue with iTunes app,e ID and password. I have been emailing back and forth with an iTunes customer service representative with NO results. I begged the representative to p,ease just phone me so that we could just fix it quickly. Of course no call was made to me and I have received no further email from this representative regarding my problem. I am beyond upset about this. It is awful that I should have to repurchase my paid apps in order to update them. To not have the option of phone support is ridiculous. To try and resolve customer service issues via email is even more ridiculous. I would even be satisfied with a live online chat but that was not a possibility either. Not that I beleive a it will do any good, but I plan to write a letter to Apple Corporate Office as it relates to this widespread iTunes issue. I have no confidence that it will help or that they have any interest in helping resolve my issue but I will send it none the less. I have spent close to $1,000 on apple care as I and my family own a myriad of various Apple Products! And yet I can get NO successful support for iTunes which I must patronize to purchase APPS on these apple products. I have no choice but to purchase Apps from the itunes store, but will not make another movie or music purchase on iTunes as my own little protest against the lack of an effective iTunes customer service system.

It is really a shame that my issue still remains unresolved.

None of this helps. I'm having the same problem as the three folks above and nothing works. The apple ID in the App Update on the iphone is simple a different name and cannot be changed - and obviously i don't have the password. The question is how do you force the apple id on the app update on the iphone match the apple id that you use to log into the apple website for support, etc. THIS IS THE QUESTION. I have been working for MONTHS to try and fix this ridiculous problem!
