"There is a problem with your device"

I just plugged my iPad (1) into iTunes to sync and it said there was a new software update available and did I want to install it. I said yes and the update started. After a while, it said there was an error and I needed to restore which I attempted only to have an "There is a problem with your device" message come up. I unplugged it and plugged it in again and the same error message happens every time. I contacted Apple support and they said the "hardware" still has 60 days of warranty left but they want $29 per incident or $79 for ongoing support and an Apple Store is 100 miles away. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.

No I have done your solution over 5 times already. I dont think it is the FW file or version, it is access to the activation server. You just got lucky is all.

I am going to move the file and retry a download ... forced update then I have to quit for a while. Been doing this all day and its VERY irratating.

DO NOT POST IT AS A SOLUTION .. you just got lucky and were able to hit the activation server is all. It is still down or whatever.

Thanks for the try though.

How without putting into DCU mode I could have ability to restore iPad (I've talking about big button in iTunes -"Restore", clicking on it holding SHIFT key allows to select firmware to flash)?

As I know, if iTunes prompting you to Restore - its a DFU mode.

I've used many intructions including this video:
