Movie Trailers Not Available?

Our iMac hard drive was recently replaced and the new drive installed/upgraded to Snow Leopard. I was able to restore the hard drive by using my Time Machine backup which worked like it should-- everything was restored like I had hoped. However, when I went to the Apple Trailers site via Safari 5.0.4 and tried to view the latest Pixar Cars 2 trailer, I can see the page but the little icons in the top left of page denoting how many trailers they are, HD versions, etc. are missing. I checked other movie trailers and the same results: the page is viewable but no ability to access the Quicktime movie trailers. Thinking it was an issue with Safari, I checked with my Firefox 4.0 browser-- same thing. I'm pretty sure I've upgraded to the latest version of Safari. Quicktime is working on my iMac as I can watch QT clips on tutorial pages and iTunes. Not sure what is causing the issue. Any suggestions?

Side note: when I open Quicktime Player 10, it just opens. It doesn't open up an Apple Quicktime window/site that lists available items from iTunes, etc. Maybe this has been abandoned recently but I can always remember it when opening Quicktime 7.x

Problem sol-ved.

Evidently it was a server issue and I just had to bide some time. I hope everyone else is able to now access the trailers site. Ironically our internet service went down today and I had to re-boot it both the DSL modem and wireless router. Not sure it was related (no-ooo, Apple can crash ISPs can it? 😉)

Thanks to everyone who replied and thanks to Apple to finally rectifying the problem!

hmm

Problem not solved.

I no longer get the error message, but neither do I get the buttons that begin the trailers.

Problem still exists for me 😟

Maybe I need to wait for my ISP to crash?? 😝

I spoke too soon... When I checked earlier, I was in my office, where I haven't been in about a week, and found the trailers working properly. Now that I'm back home, the site once again doesn't work (or should that be, doesn't work from home?); the pop-down menus are once again missing. Sigh...

It sounds like it depends which Akamai (rim) server your ISP connects to. Some ISPs are connected to 'working trailer' akamai servers while other ISP are connected to broken ones.

I posted this in a similar thread on Safari. There is a corrupt javascript file being served to some users that effects all browsers/operating systems and has nothing to do with QT or Safari. Apple just needs to check with Akamai and get the following corrupt file fixed in some of its locations: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/global/scripts/lib/scriptaculous.js

I'm in Central Texas if that helps which servers have a corrupt version of this file.
