How do I delete apps from the iCloud
There are apps appearing on the iCloud that I do not want there. I deleted them for a reason. How can I delete them from the iCloud.

We're asking to be able to delete them on our side of the transaction.
As said... this isn't possible. From either side. Your purchase history is hideable, but not deleteable.
For context, Google and Microsoft do not allow deletion of purchase history either. Apple is not an outlier on this.

Apps are not part of the back up. Apps are not stored in iCloud. The directions you've given describe how to stop backing up data for an app.

I could have sworn there was once a way to do this in iTunes, but maybe it was just the hide feature. One advantage, I guess, to not being able to delete is that with the little Cloud icon appear in the App Store next to all those useless apps we've tried and hated, at least we won't accidentally choose them again. I agree, though, it's sloppy and Apple should at least acknowledge years of complaints by users with some solution to get rid of unwanted apps.
You've always been able to get rid of unwanted apps. What you can't get rid of is the record that you've purchased/downloaded certain apps. Those are business records. You can't log into your credit card account and delete purchase records. You can't log into your cell phone account and delete call logs.

No one's asking to be able to delete them on Apple's side of the transaction. We're asking to be able to delete them on our side of the transaction. Apple can keep the "business records" until the cows come home, for all we care. For this reason your analogy fails.

No, really it doesn't. Does your credit card company let you delete transaction records from their iPhone app? I know Amex doesn't.
That one fails, too. I'm sure Amex doesn't let you re-"purchase" the things you purchased in the past for no additional cost, after you threw them away. But we can delete and redownload apps as many times as we want. So comparing the Amex/credit card world to the Apple app world is inappt. (Yes, I know that's not how "inapt" is spelled; it's a mix of punnery and poetic license.)
and I never said Apple is an outlier on this.
Nor did I quote you. I used the words "for context" purposely. Rather than make a overtly negative statement, I offered possible rationale for the situation. My bad.
It seems you just want to be unhappy about this.
I'm saying it should be possible,
But at present, it isn't. That's what we volunteers do here. We answer technical support questions. We don't, and can't, debate policy or Apple's decisions.
Bring your concerns to the only people who can change the current process.

But the analogy was about retaining documentation, not re-acquiring purchases.
So comparing the Amex/credit card world to the Apple app world is inappt.
Again... the discussion is about deleting purchase history. Neither Apple or Amex, (or Google, or Sony, or Microsoft et al), allows that.
If you have feedback for Apple, you can post it here: Apple - Feedback
Here is the support article that explains it: Hide and unhide purchases in iTunes or iBooks on your Mac or PC - Apple Support

Why is Apple so resistant to implementing this fundamental feature that so many millions of users want ?? Why are they so blatantly and intransigently anti-customer-choice on this issue?
I wouldn't be able to answer that, but you can share your displeasure with Apple here: Apple - Feedback
And my previous response was to your question as to why Apple titled the support article Hiding instead of Deleting. I was explaining that they called it that because that is what it is.
Cheers,

I know it's not possible. I'm not saying it is possible. I'm saying it should be possible, and I never said Apple is an outlier on this.
I understand everything you explained however, I down loaded an app three weeks ago when I was told I would get a heart monitor to ware, the monitor hadn't been ordered from the company that was supplying it. When the company got the order they assigned a registration number to use when I start using the monitor. The number is not recognized be cause I'm using the the app i downloaded before the company assigned the registration number. I've tried to deleted the app several times but when I re download the app but it's the same one that I deleted.
So YOU THINK I should search for a needle in a haystack 5 years back? How EASY is it to simply give an honest effort in serving those who pay for services that will HELP many of them with the same problem. You simply like to oppose reason, for the fun of it.
