Thank you for posting this. I too have very little data on my phone (clear photos regularly) and have nothing else except music (not a lot), and got the same message. Even after deleting back up I gain no more storage. I would love to get rid of apps I no longer want and cannot help but think these are somehow contributing to the lack of storage on my phone.

Apps in iCloud do not count against your storage.

Apps are not included in a backup.

MIchael Black - You seem to know about icloud regarding app storage. I hope you can help me. My problem is that I purchased an app MIPC that was working on my ipad pro. The developer then made an update and many of us cannot sign in anymore via ipad since the update. Here is my question/dilema: i deleted the app from my ipad but since it still is in icloud storage how can I get the latest release of the app when the bug is fixed instead of the one that is stored on icloud,

the buggy one? So I guess I am asking this, when an update to an app is released and I already have the app in icloud, is the icloud version the newest release or the bad one backed up? If the latter is the case, and I believe it is, I can never use this app again on my ipad and my camera is also useless. I hope Apple

has thought of this and pulls the latest release in when you download from icloud!
