With the new Find my iPhone, I'd like to turn off the email notification that the iphone has been found. Anyone know how to do that?

There's a much more legitimate reason this email login notification is not at all logical. What if your phone is stolen??? There is no requirement that you must use a passcode to lock your phone. If your phone is stolen and you use Find My Phone to locate it, this email login notification is simply alerting the thief to go and turn off Find My Phone! Makes no sense to me at all. Apple needs to turn off the automated email notification or make it an option to turn it off.

Then obviously you aren to concerned with your +$700 small, portable electronics getting lost/stolen...

If your phone is stolen and you use Find My Phone to locate it, this email login notification is simply alerting the thief to go and turn off Find My Phone!

However, unless the thief also has the password to your AppleID, he cannot turn off FindMyiPhone!

Could you explain how I could do that please.

Do what?

2raj2raj seemd to be indicating if you use the FindMyiPhone app on you iPhone (instead of logging into iCloud.com on your computer) , it will not send an email.

I haven’t tried it so I don’t know.

I tried to turn off iCloud but it also turned off find my phone.

Correct.

How can I use find my phone without logging into icloud please

You cannot.

says it was used on a new device...

Ah, good catch! I checked my emails and mine say the same thing. I'm even getting the email when I log in from my own phone. Hopefully this is just a bug that Apple will correct. Nonetheless, I still fail to see the logic in sending a notification for logging in to this app, even if it was from a new device; Especially in the case that your device is stolen. True, one must know your Apple ID credentials to turn off the Find My Phone service, but it certainly won't stop them from powering down the device which will accomplish the same thing. When something is stolen, you have a very narrow window to locate and retrieve your property. This email will just serve to alert the thief that they're being tracked. Not cool at all.

Yeah there is really NO reason for the emails is there? If so what is it? I really don't like it! I track my husband many times a day with it (with his permission) and neither of us wants him getting constant emails about it. I love him and want to know where he is for his safety and my peace of mind. It's barely about spying at all and even if it was why is Apple stirring up trouble?
