I am unable to update my apple tv gen2

Still unable to update in Omaha. Received as gift on Saturday. Have tried updating every day via wifi. Oh well!

In GERMANY too...not over wifi or itunes via micro usb

No, I've been trying since Saturday. Tried it last night and failed. First attempt today worked.

No luck in Melbourne Australia. And I am on my second Apple TV within 3 days.

That's very strange - it appears to be hit and miss who gets the update and when. I had a helpful call from one of the Apple Tech people just now and he confirmed it's a problem with some of their update servers which he hopes will be resolved soon though not today. My guess is some people when updating have been pointed by chance to a working server mirror while others keep hitting the affected one? Anyway look like the issue may be resolved soon.

I bought the apple TV on June 20th (in Canada), and I am experiencing the same problem updating the firmware. It fails even when I try to update from iTunes (connecting the apple tv to my mac). I called Apple twice and was advised that there is a problem with the Update servers but they are unsure what the fix is. They were unable to provide an ETA.

Still not working...this is getting tiresome.

Spoke to Apple support today. Apparently there's nothing wrong. Don't know why I bothered, I already knew what they were going to say.

Cmon Apple. Such a Giant cant fix soon that little issue ?

I bought this morning the ATV2 in replacement of the ATV 1...I met the same issues than the others (i live in Paris) : Impossible to get the good Ipsw from Apple's servers !

This is really a shame and insult to let customers speculate, alone, about eventual issues ! What are doing Apple's communication and technical' departments ?

Same here in BC Canada. 2nd ATV2 in a week and still won't restore. Frustrated!!!

Same thing here in Colorado, USA. Fails every time I try and update it.

Still not working in Germany - frustrated, because i have to update to solve the "green screen" problematic with my phillips tv.

As some above have said I really do not care one way or the other about the updates as long as mine functions. I do find Apple's silence very strange indeed. I'm beginning to wonder if ATV is actually an Apple product.

You really have to hunt on the main Apple Store page for any information regarding ATV. I also wonder if the server is "non-Apple". How else could you explain their silence?

It is pretty obvious this isn't a Steve Jobs project or else it would have been corrected or at least explained to users by now.
