Now, many folks are talking about how to import Canon XF MXF files into Final Cut Pro X for editing without rendering time or quality loss. Well, don’t blame to the Final Cut Pro X, the “Import from Camera…” option works just like “Log and Transfer”. The thing is, even FCP X does not work with the Canon or Panasonic P2 MXF files. As far as i know, to solve those problems, the most important piece of the equation is that transcoding MXF files to Final Cut Pro X native formats(e.g. Apple ProRes encoded mov format) along with some help from the third-party software, Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac is the best choice for you. To help those who wanna import/edit MXF files in Final Cut Pro X flawlessly, I’m sharing my experience to convert MXF files to Apple ProRes Codec for Final Cut Pro X: http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/category/mxf-to-prores/
In addtion, If you want to know more mxf video converter and importing or editing, please view the professional mxf column: http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/mxf-column/

You can try Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac to transcode to ProRes 422 codec, and then you can import without rendering.

No need for any espxternal software anymore. FCP X can ingest MXF files natively meanwhile. No transcoded needed, no nothing.
Does this mean that FCPX will not rewrap mxf files into Quicktime anymore?
I have 10.0.7 and the canon mxf plugin. FCP still rewraps.
Just confirmed it. I used iSkysoft MXF to FCP Converter to take the MXF video from the Canon XF100 and convert it to ProRes that imports perfectly into FCP X.
To work with native MXF - no transcoding or re-wrapping:

iSkySoft is horrible software. I've tested it and it should not be used for production. FCP can import Canon XF100 without additional software.
Here is the step-by-step guide for you to convert and transcode Canon XF100 MXF files to Apple ProRes 422 MOV for Final Cut Pro 6 /Final Cut Pro 7/FCP X on iMac/MacBook Pro with Mac OS X like Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion now. Apple ProRes 422, H.264 MOV optimizes Final Cut Pro workflow for editing with no rendering
This is spam for an unnecessary piece of software.
Hehe excactly Tom
They have been doing this forever, posting as users that claims that their fantastic software solved all their problems.
Problem is, their software is, as you say, nothing noone would (or should) ever use in a production environment as it is pretty hopeless.
And, it is also outdated as there are no issues with importing in general for any of the platforms anymore.
