Will OSX Lion still support FCP Studio?

With the disaster that FCP X is turning out to be, is there any indication as to whether or not any versions of FCP Studio will still work with OS X Lion? I have a sneaking suspicion that it will not, considering the approach Apple has taken with the FCP X release, but I haven't heard anything definitive yet. I'm hoping Apple will come out with some kind of statement regarding FCP X soon, because the way this release has been handled is absolutely bizzare. If there is no intention of continuing to support the professional community, just say so, and everyone can move on to something else.

Well..black sun..excuse my similarities with the 'Lemmings' But I found it to be no where near as solid as the previous FCPs I have worked with..Just a few extra functions than imovie...and after about 2 mins of edit with filters etc it just fell to pieces..also I can deinterlace better with the older versions...Seemed more like a computer game than an application. But that's only in my 'lemming' point of view..I do work for large organizations and ask a good rate..and get it and this FCPX certainly didn't cut it for mine!! But we all have different ways of working I'm sure and different expectations and requirements.

Thanks!..Got my money back too..!

As you were Lemmings! 😉

You have not really answered any questions so far have you? Bland stupid statements that you think people will except? You work in 'big organizations'... which? And you get paid a good rate; bully for you! To be honest, with your sloppy and lackadaisical attitude I wouldn't paid you jack! Please go away and use Premier Pro/Media Composer, your really boring the pants of everybody!

Tom Wolsky is my name. I'm not hiding. I don't think you've spent enough time with this application to know how to use it.

Negativity? Sorry, the negativity is coming from you.

When you're ready to talk reasoanbly so am I. I don't doubt this application may not work for you, but the size of your organization has zero to do with it. The United States Air Force is a fairly large organization at last reckoning. It seems to work for some of what they need to do.

Shane... you are a dreadful apologist! Please go back and read exactly what kaya papaya said (and is this his 'real' name'?). We all know your 'love' for Apple after the FCPX debacle, so please, don't let this get in the way of making some sort of reasoned argument. If people want to come onto this site and slag Apple off thats fine, but don't expect an easy ride, especially if all you have to give is:

Well after 1 weeks of FCPX(disaster)

We've heard all of this before, ad nauseum, so its just gets a little bit boring. If people bring forward things to say and then back them up, fine; if not - THEN GET LOST!

Ps. I like Little Frogs in high Def to...

It is not lemming like to state flatly that I can't use FCX to do my job.

I just finished editing a commercial for the Superbowl, and even if I could have done the edit in FCX, I needed to send - wait for it... EDLs to the color correction facility (where they use a Nucoda color correction system), then to the effects house to load into a Flame, they requested... guess what? EDLs.

Is it us broadcast professionals who are the lemmings, or those who follow FCX off the cliff?

Sorry, but until I can do my job with FCX, learning it is just an intellectual exercise. Personally I can't see how changing the paradigm from an open timeline to shoving around little piles of stuff is a revolutionary advance. To me, it's just different, not better.
