Attachments sent from Mail do not show up in Outlook

Still a problem on a mac and much more convoluted if you throw in your iPhone don't have time to try iPad. None of the attachments at the end, plain text, fixes available that i can find. I've tried forwards and created new emails on my phone, if it passes through an email account on an exchange server and look at the emial on my phone I get a "C" extension text file, if the attachment is not at the end. if i send the same thing to my phone account works just fine.

Something seems to be happening when the mail hits the exchange server?? It does not appear to be simply a rendering issue, the email was sent from my iP4 to an email account on an exchange server and read on the same iP4 that sent it.

I've got to agree with those that are dumping this on the Apple guys. I read about this same thing happening for YEARS and it only happens with emails that originate from the Mac Mail clients.

Somewhere, I can't find it now, there is a setting to put the attachments at the end of the composed email. This solved the problem for me. I have a different issue, which is that some attachments do not show up even though they are there. If I read them with webmai, I see the attachment, but with mac mail, only the first attachment shows up, even in quickview. An example is an email with an attached one page gif and a multipage pdf. The gif shows but not the pdf. The clue is in the message size, it is obvious that the pdf is also there.

I read once that an attachment sometimes needed text before & after the attachment, might try that.

The best advice I received so far is to use Attachement Tamer. It really works, and have solved all my Apple Mail attachement related problems.

Breaking things never fixes anything. It simply aggrivates users and gives the PC world another reason to tell Apple users why they suck!

Yes, I too have bought Attachment Tamer and it seems to work well. It is just a shame Apple cannot build it into Mail...just another (albeit good) bit of software to keep up to date!

They do not need to "build" anything into mail. They just need to bring back the functionality they removed. Things worked previous to this obvious F'up that no one at Apple cares to admit to.

I just did a test now: I sent an e-mail without the signature ... the attachments worked well. Very strange!

looks like that the signatures has something to do with

this problem of attachements.

Try to send an e-mail without the "SIGNATURE".

I have tried and the attachments just worked.

I have similar issues, mainly with pictures where they either don't show or appear embedded in e-mail rather than as an attachment. When it does this it is not possible to resize so is either too big or far too small. I currently use 10.6.8. Is it any better on Lion? Should I be moving to Lion now, anyway?
