Screen Sharing in Lion from iPad

Hello!

I am using 10.7.0 Lion now and when I had 10.6.8 installed (or when booting from the back up) I was able to see my screen from my iPad using Mocha VNC or VNC Viewer.

Now, when I open my mini from the iPad I get a login page, but I can't do anything, I can't type a password or click on the account. This is using Screen Sharing from Preferences.

If I use a server app like Real VNC, I get a black screen on the iPad, but I can move the mouse around and click anywhere I like, but with a black screen.

I am aware that screen sharing has changed in Lion, I can now log on any account on the Mac, but it is not working from the iPad (using Mocha VNC or VNC Viewer).

Can somebody help me? I use this feature every day.

Wilfredo.

I have a MacBook Pro with 10.7 and just bought RealVNC Viewer for iPad for $9.99. Followed there instructions to turn on remote management in the sharing area of the system preferences, set my password and I was able to connect to my computer with the ipad but I too am only getting a grey screen with a cursor. Nothing else. Any other ideas on how to get this to work? Is it a 10.7 problem or RealVNC Viewer problem? Thanks.

When you see the gray screen, you have to type your mac account password immediately, if you wait too long, the viewer freezes and you can't input anything.

At least that's how I've managed to use the VNC Viewer in the iPad.

I don't know if this is a Lion or RealVNC problem.

BWCW, I thing the problem has to do with Lion now allowing multiple users to screen share and have their own screen and input. Before multiple users could be on but you saw the same screen and fought over the mouse. Try loggin our of the macbook pro before you loggin with your iPad. I think the problem has to do with the same person trying to loggin twice. If I log out of my Mac before i try the ipad , I can login fine but I have only tried it a few times because I don't want to log out of my mac when I leave. With remote management and VNC password set plus file sharing to windows SMD in the preferencde and turn ARD off (the only way I can sync appature using lion now) it works about every third or 4 try. If you can keep a blinking cursor on the loggin page and get all the dots of the password, it usually works. When you don't see the dots in password you must disconnect and try again. This is not a solution but I mention it because I may not have tested the loggin out before trying ipad real VNC enought to be sure it works everytime. I am exploring apple's Screen sharing which works great going from mac to mac. Now I need to figure out how to make it work on the iPad.

Another easy fix is Remote VNC, Just $.99 and it works great with lion. I have not tested it off the network with cell data but should work fine there. The key seems to be to add your user name and password when you set up your account. I the Real VNC would work but I can't figure out how to and the username. I would think Real VNC would be fixed shortly but I can't find anything on their web page.

For others - on the login page and beyond, are you finding that your clicks are several inches to the right? This is why I thought the login screen wasn't working - my clicks were being sent off away from where I was tapping on my ipad. Even once enabling the Lion login in Mocha VNC, on my desktop things seemed not to be working until I figured this out. For example: tapping on the apple menu in the VNC cilent may actually click the Help menu. Seems consistently off - not sure if this is a problem with Mocha or the VNC server, but I've sent a message to Mocha support also to see if it's known. Anyone else seeing this?
