ps: the xxxx should be an ip address but I photoshoped it, cause i don't like private information to be leaked.

Anyone who has the same problem. I contacted LaCie support line, they say it's a known problem at every NAS manufacturer and it's apple to do an update for this issue.

Apple not including backwards compatibility is beyond me. Re-enableling DHCAST128 hasn't fixed anything. This is pretty bad for some of us who have large deployments. I guess we wont be upgrading any of our labs or studios with Lion as it seems to breaks all sorts of things using AFP, on top of all the porblems were are suffering with binding to a directory.

They had plenty of notice.

No doubt they did have plenty of notice - yet it appears that every manufacturer was taken unaware by this issue.

For some reason I'm reminded of the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy when Arthur Dent's house is being knocked down to make way for a bypass. He also had plenty of notice, with the plans for the bypass being on display in a locked filing cabinet in a disused basement lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard". Maybe the sign should have said "Beware of the Lion"!
