Updated to Lion and now The Sims 3 freezes. Any ideas?

Good news for all of you who have problems with OSX Lion and The Sims 3. Like you all now OSX Lion updates the drivers for some Graphic cards and that let The Sims 3 freezes after a fue seconds/minutes. Now Apple have release the new build of 10.7.2 (Developer Beta) and that fixes all the problems with graphic cards ! I can already say that it also runs smoother on OSX Lion then it whas on Snow Leopard, also objects loads faster. So stay tuned and waith for OSX Lion 10.7.2 is out and your all good to go 😉.

I have a macbook 13" bought in june 2011. hd graphics 3000 by intel. when I upgraded to lion, sims 3 worked very well, but now I upgraded to 10.7.2 software and I have graphics problems, I've tried everything I know. the problem is; when I create a sim, it looks so strange, with colour stripes in his body, his eyes are black with stripes... and the stripes are on movement all the time.

with 10.7.1 I didn't have this f***ing problem!

I am having the same crashes with Leopard (10.5.7), I have a 13" MB from 2006-2007, with an nvidia 9400m. I installed all the patches, even tried full fan speed, multiple reinstalls, I don't know what else to try!

Are you sure your mac has a nvidia 9400m? I looked at specs for macbooks in the years you specified 2006-2007 and nvidia is not the video card that is in those mac's. The late 2006 model and the late 2007 model (according to Apple) is a Intel GMA 950. Sims 3 does not support the Intel GMA 950 chip. Sims3 supports 3rd gen intel. The 950 is 2nd gen.

got the same problem with sims 3 on my MBP 13" (early March) and one big more: assassin's creed 2 and assassin's creed brotherhood won't even start (since the upgrade to lion all characters in assassin's creed 2 have been green and red, so it was pretty unplayable). since the update to 10.7.2 lion works better und programs don't freeze anymore, and in dragon 2 blood is red again (since the upgrade to lion it has been green and blue,), but the new problems are realing annoying. does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

I have excat the same problem with the colors of my sims, they are all weird en stripy. How can I fix this?

EXACT SAME!!!! I've tried to de-install all my sims and reinstall: didn't work. Then I tried to de-install and reinstall on another account (along with all my music, picture...) and it still didn't work! Someone, please help me!

Anybody? No? Nobody can tell me if its because of the same reason?

i had the same problem, but i phoned apple and they told me that when you download a new software, EA take their time to upload a new patch, dont know if it has been released yet, if not, wait... :/

I've had the same problem for the last 4 weeks. EA told me to wait a week and that it would be fixed by then... not so. It's been a MONTH and no change. The costumer support agents also seem to have completely different opinions on the problem. I REALLY wish we could get this figured out!!

I'm having the same issue. Its ridiculous really. Its not fun to play the game when you cant see your sims. Additionally everytime I try and download something from the exchange the game crashes.

I agree! Are they working on fixing this any time soon??

Well, Snow Leopard has PowerPC enabled, but on Lion, PowerPC is no longer on Mac OS X Lion. So, you'll need to downgrade to Snow Leopard until EA has a Lion supported The Sims 3 app.

(What I meant was that The Sims 3 is a PowerPC app, so if you run it on Lion, belive me that it's gonna have ALOT of problems.)

Sounds like this person never bothered to look at the requirements for the sims3. Sims2 was a PowerPC app. And the Sims3 is a intel app. So next time someone wants to say something better make sure that they have the correct information.
