iTunes 10.4 crashing when syncing music

I'm having a major problem after upgrading to iTunes 10.4 for Windows. I'm now randomly crashing when syncing music to my Ipad 2. It seems some sync fine and then all the sudden it crashes.

The crash I'm getting is:

AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 10.4.0.80 ModName: quicktime.qts

ModVer: 7.69.80.9 Offset: 001cd746

What's odd is that it's even crashing on audio podcasts that I downloaded on my iPad 2 which are being synced to my PC without issue, but then cause it to crash when syncing back.

I had no problems with 10.3.1 or earlier.

iPad 2, Other OS, iOS 4.3.2

Clearly selecting Include Videos makes iTunes stop working when syncing Photos.

I tried moving all videos out (syncs good),

then adding just 1 back that was just around 700 Ko.

Doesn't work.

I tried opening it with QuickTime then syncing again (as someone in this post suggested).

Doesn't work.

From the other replies, it seems I need to uninstall and install iTunes 10.3, but how messy is that? I imagine it is better than when you move from one PC to another? When is an iTunes coming out that fixes this?

Windows 7

iTunes 10.4.1.10

i've uninstalled 10.4 [in sequential order as specified by Apple Tech in another post] and reinstalled 10.3 but its still doing the same thing. CPU reaches 100% and itunes stops working when attempting to sync music.

i then unchecked sync music but it does the same thing when only syncing pics, ringtones etc....

if anyone has an answer to this problem, PLEASE LET US KNOW

i guess thats that...

all we can do now is wait for the new update.. Honestly iOS5 and iCloud is worth the WAIT...!

FYI you can sync and update your device wierlessly. so throw ur pc or mac away no need for iTunes any more.

(((my fav part is that i can edit my photo album without using iTunes)))

YAY.... 🙂

I uninstalled iTunes 10.4.1.

Tried to keep a copy of my music library.

Installed iTunes 10.3.

Lost all my playlists and playcounts despite attempts to put the right files back. :-(

But videos are syncing now - well, I tried one and am following up with all now... :-)

So if you do this, find a good tip on how not to lose those playlists.

Apps are being uninstalled too, but well, that's not such a big deal.

So I see we all have same problem. Here is the screen shot, as iTunes is crashing every time. I deselected Music Videos, but it didn't help. Can't we get an answer from Apple? They take enought money, in order to give us support! User uploaded file

OK. Sorted this despte a call from tech support at Apple.

It's the latest version of iTunes, 10.4. that is at the heart of the problem from what I have learned.

I uninstalled iTunes completely. Then a file called ituneslibrary.itb has to be renamed as .bak (if you don't do this, the earlier version of iTunes will not install. Use 'search' to locate it).

Find the earlier version from somewhere like oldapps. com. Download and instal iTunes 10.3

Sorted! (Well it's worked for both my wife's and my computers)

Hope this is of some use
