"This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."

I have a 27inch 2.7Ghz mid 11 model w Lion and iTunes 10.4. Getting an error message from iTunes "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." Happens to some video podcast. For example, I did a search on el bulli and came across a list of Podcast Episodes. Video:A Day at El Bulli Book Lunch Party works but El Bulli: Cocina conc... by Emprendedores does not.

I must point out that it also says that I can not gather any information on Emprendedores because it's not available in the Australia Store, not sure if that's the reason why I can not view the video.

this may be sacrilege but can anyone offer assistance with the windows side of this problem? I thought I was already running iTunes 12 on my PC but when I updated this afternoon I received the whole quick time/iTunes message. Pretty frustrated with apple at this point. I use this computer only as a media computer for my apple TV and audio files through my home network so I don't think switching the default player to Quick Time will solve my issue. Going to try and download an old version of iTunes to get up and running but any helpful comments would be appreciated.

For Windows users running into this thread:

The current (nearly) all 64-bit version of iTunes for Windows doesn't integrate with QuickTime. If you have content that needs QuickTime on your system then uninstall iTunes and all supporting components, then install the version of iTunes found here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and reinstall QuickTime. The "for older video cards" release is a 64-bit installer for the core 32-bit iTunes application, similar to all 64-bit releases of iTunes prior to 12.1 and will work with QuickTime.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates if you have problems uninstalling or reinstalling components.
