I use the blade tool and make a cut, continue to play to make another cut, but the play head disappears. The clip still plays normally, but the yellow play head is gone, how do I get this back?

Feedback in the FCP menu.
Go to Final Cut Pro (Menu - top right) > Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback,
and Safari will open to a form where you can submit all the details of your suggestions and/or problems.

I have the same issue. I posted FCP feedbackand hope it gets fixed soon. It is clearly a bug that is shared by many users.
When FCPX is open top left Final Cut Pro Menu -> Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback.
This opens a form in your browser where you can enter all kinds of reports, bugs, suggestions, etc...
Zooming out and in does bring the playhead back. Thanks for the work-around.

I have just been playing with version 10.0.3 and I don't seem to get the playhead problem. Can anyone confirm if Apple have fixed this?
Today was the first time I got to use 10.0.3, so far so good for me 😉
Also so far so good. Speed of response also seems to have increased in various ways. Still had an unexplained crash of the program though but that is a different matter.
Seems this bug is gone with 10.0.3.
