You have mistaken, all of you guys underestimate the power of the A4 chip in the iPhone 4, the A4 is powerful enough to run Siri, apple just has not yet approved of it. Siri is mostly reliant on the processor, and the A4 is indeed a powerful chip. Everyone who has and iPhone 4 and couldn't get Siri feel like they got cheated.

Hopefully Apple will port Siri as a software update.

Why are you guys so **** ride, people are here ask questions, don't give them a hard time.

monta17, I'm with you. I got an iPhone 4 last summer and one of the first apps I put in it was Siri Assistant, which worked well, but responded in text, although I never asked it a complex question before or asked it to send am email or text. It kindof got collected dust in the growing abyss of apps because of disuse. When I attempted to use it on the day of the announced 4S launch, I got a ""I'll be right with you"... and then (says) "Sorry, a problem occurred receiving response from the server. "" Can this be fixed?

Its all about profit and nice figures to report for the next several Quarters. Thats why they launched ip4s exclusive with Siri. Its a killer app for sure. Imagine if they support ip4 as well, like most people would agree, it would only translate into less of sales/upgrades to ip4s.

I reckon the time ip5 launch, they will bring Siri to all ips.

Hi there!I am also a user of the old SIRI application on my iphone 4 before the apple acquire it and disabled the old user of siri.Regarding the upgrade from ios4 to ios5 to be able to siri to run, which also not possible as they are blocking the old server of siri.As for now,I rather wait for any release software or patch from apple.

I am also a huge fan of apple, and I usually am a huge advocate of the way apple conducts its' self and it's business. What I find amazing is that apple would choose to carry on this charade of siri not being able to work on the iphone 4. Even after very reputable sites such as cnet and endgadget (among many others) say, on no uncertain term, "Siri can, will, and does work on the iphone 4 with the a4 chipset.". Not to mention the now released videos demonstrating it actually working on the iphone 4. But Apple still chooses to stick with "it wont or doesnt work on iphone 4".

I am also all about Apple remaining profitable and able to offer something to attract new users and of course as many upgrades as possible. But rather than carry on with all this nonsense and let the jailbreak community beat you to it ( and they most certainly will ). Release it as a paid app in the app store so that your loyal customers ( myself included ) can pay the necessary fee and enjoy this great feature. Because if a repo on Cydia releases siri for the iphone 4 before Apple, in the face Apple saying it cant or wont work; Well.... can we say "antenna gate" all over again.

I really hope/wish that it did? But, it obviously does not and the only reason that is, is because Apple doesn't want it too! Why, though? The main selling point for their new iPhone4s and aperently from what I've been reading (in this forum anyway), the only real reason... I've only had my new (I still consider it new) iPhone4 for a little over about 14 months now and I occasionally can find a feature that I have never seen/used before making my iPhone4 newe once again as if I had just purchased it.. I just received a telephone call from a "service provider" trying to sell me the new iPhone4s! The selling point(s) for this guy after telling him that I had my current/only iPhone4 for some 12-14 months now, was to say things like, "So, your iPhone must have a few scatches on it by now, right"? I just want to end in saying that, I hope that I am not so vain as to need a brand new iPhone4s just because my old iPhone4 which in my eyes is still new, has a few (in my eyes) "character scratches" know what I mean? Take care and goodluck. After reading some of these replies, I'll be waiting for the iPhone5 before I'll be purchasing another!
