my iphone is frozen

I was updating some apps, specifically the lastest facebook update, it was taking forever to load...then when it finally did load, it didn't work, so I decided to delete the app & just redownload it. Ok fine...its redownloading. I left, came back to check it, and it was still installing, so I decided to shut off my phone and restart it, here comes the problem,.ever since then, my phone won't turn back on. It is frozen with the apple logo on it. I have tried to hold the sleep & wake button, plug it in to itunes, everything & still nada.

WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?!

I did the

1) Hold buttons sleep + home untill iPhone turns off;

2) Open iTunes;

3) Hold home button and plug the phone to your computer. The phone will turn on and the iTunes + Arrow + cable screen will appear.;

4) iTunes will recover you phone from unsuccessful recovery process.

but the apple still remained. i left it plugged in and all the sudden my pc dinged letting me know the device was recognized and then my sleep screen was there, locked for a few seconds then it just started working. re installed facebook and it seems to be working now. thank gosh

Yup, same problem here. Facebook 4.0 is a piece of ****. It messed up both my wife's and my iPhone 4.

* Looks like some were able to just wait a few minutes on the boot up logo, and it finally came back. In about 3 - 5 minutes. Try that first, then go the recovery way later.

UPDATE 10/10/2011 8:15pm MST: This worked for me, just had to wait on the bootup logo for almost 5 minutes. Piece of crap finally came back to life.

We were on IOS 4.3.3.

Now we have to do the following to get the **** thing to restore. Hope you guys have backups, this update really screwed things up. Good job Facebook for being a bunch of retards.

  1. Plug iPhone into USB to computer.
  2. Hold your Power + Home button for 10 seconds.

    (You'll see the apple logo, then it will disappear)

  3. While still holding the Home button, release the power button.
  4. Open iTunes.

    It will recognize your device, and that it has a problem, and that you need to restore.

  5. RESTORE
  6. KILL FACEBOOK

GOT an iphone 4....installed the FB app 4.0 loaded...installed it....came out wit a blue facebook screen...attempted to load and after a while it just froze on the page....did a hard reset and then it just stayed on the apple logo...did a second hard reset...waited about 3 minutes and it came back in safe mode....try that people....attempt this and if all else fails then....recovery mode is the only option.If ur succesful in bringing it back to life....DONT even think about installing it again until FB throws a new version and addresses the problem....
