OK I got it and well it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I did what many people were saying here. Uninstalled all programs in my Control Panel that were published by Apple with the exception of Apple Updater.

I restarted.

Then I went to program files and deleted everything that may have been installed by Apple except the Apple Updater folder.

I went back to Control Panel and ran a repair on Apple Updater.

Then I went to Programs and ran Apple Updater. This application actually needed an update so I did so.

Once it ran again after updating it had new Quicktime, iTunes and Safari.

So I updated Quicktime and iTunes.

They all installed flawlessly and I'm now updating my iPad to iOS 5!

I FOUND A FIX!!!

Open Apple Software Update. When it starts to do its automated check for new software, click CANCEL. Go to the Tools in the menu bar and select Open Downloaded Updates Folder, if you were like me you will see one file listed "AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi" (or something closely worded to this effect) - Double click on this and let it run. When it finishes, download a fresh iTunes64Setup.exe from Apple.com. Launch the setup and select Repair - (I had just previously did this about 6 times with NO JOY). Once the repair finishes iTunes lauched to the EULA - click Agree and viola!! iTunes opened fine.

I HOPE THIS HELPS SOME OF YOU!

I have tried everything suggested, and they have been suggestions that appeared to be good, however, nothing works. If this isn't figured out by the time my new iphones arrive and I cannot activate them and use them because of this issue they may just be returned. I have been a fan of the iphone for years and I love my ipad 2, but this is unexcusable to release a software with such an issue and I have to have the new iphone up and running for my work. Apple where are you at in helping those of us who have been customers for so long. Clark Howard has the term right with Apple when he calls it "Customer No Service" at least with this issue.
