iPhone 4 5.0 Upgrade 3200 Error
I am trying to upgrade a vanilla iPhone 4 to the 5.0 software and the process works fine and after the backup and extraction, I get the 3200 error. Any help on solving for my Mac OS Lion?

I'm having the exact same problem.
I had similiar issues. I needed to make sure I updated iTunes, also you need to be with 10.7.2 because of the iCloud usability. This was recommended to me and follwing making sure al was updated all installed fine with no error code.
That said there could be a heavy server usage issue. Who knows, sure you will install good. Have been very happy with iOS 5 the week Ive been using it:)
Yeah as a few have already said, although perhaps drowned out by the "AMG IT NOT WORKING!!" posts, it seems to be just a server issue. Doing a hard reset of your phone does not resolve it, the ones posting that just got "lucky" that the time after they restarted it happened to let them on.
My phone is updating now, I tried a hard reset and it still failed, then after a couple of go's it started working, so if your getting the problem dont panic, just stick with it an keep trying and eventually you'll get through ok.
I'm having the same error message. Error 3200.
Ive erased itunes from my computer and reinstalled it.
Ive turned my Iphone off.
Ive tried updating it like 6 times.
Still not working.
If anyone finds an actual solution other than just "retrying it 7 times" that would be awesome.
same problem 😟 took an hour and a half to download and now it won't update my iphone 4!! not impressed. will just keep trying and i have a call back from apple care scheduled for tomorrow as they are now closed! again not impressed.
i had search and download the file .ipws of the ios 5 and i've recovered my iphone with him
Turn off your firewall .
It's to do with iTunes not being able to contact gs.apple.com. Guess the servers are just being overwhelmed. Keep trying I guess :/
Same issue, kept retrying again and again and it finally went through. I think the servers are being bmbarded, you just have to get lucky and get through. Keep trying!!
Same here - but 5th time lucky - must be a server load issue.
Regards,
Shawn
I just held CTRL in chose Restore > Don't Backup and it worked fine. I tried 6 times with the 3200 error. IDK give it a try. It maybe Alt/Option with Macs.
Same issue on iTunes 10.5 Win32. Restart not working so far.
Docent look like it'll happen anytime soon, this error can show up multiple times throughout the upgrade. I'm on my 18th attempt
Same issue on iTunes 10.5 Win32. Restart not working so far.
Error 3200 simply means that the server is overloaded bc everyone is trying to update at the same time
